JPMorgan Chase Investor Services Control Officer – Strategic Initiatives in Brooklyn, New York

We are seeking a project manager/business analyst to join the Global Investor Services Business Control Office (BCO) Strategic Initiatives team. The primary objective for the team is delivering and executing on control-related projects and initiatives for specific Investor Services (IS) businesses or across IS as a whole. The role, based in New York, will initially be focused on an IS-wide programme of work to review, remediate and enhance the access control and information barrier frameworks across IS. The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Supportingthe delivery of project objectives through the full project life cycle, acrossmultiple business lines within Investor Services

  • Involvementin driving / developing projectstructures; building out and structuring project approach and plans; and ongoingmanagement of project milestones and deliverables

  • Workingwith functional partners including Front Office teams, Business ControlOfficers, Technology Controls Officers, Application Developers, ClientServices, Network Management, Operations, Technology and others to design and deliveragreed solutions

  • Documentingprocesses and identifying control gaps; partnering with various subject matterexperts to quickly understand and assess the control environment includingrisks and controls

  • Ensuringtimely communication and escalation to stakeholders and management; presentationof project objectives, progress and benefits to varied audiences includingsenior management and functional partners

  • Specificallyin relation to the initial access control and information barrier programme:

  • UsingCIB and firm-wide standards to develop access role profiles for teams across IS(front-to-back); building consensus around role ownership, obtaining approvals,and facilitating adoption of roles

  • Conductingand, where possible, automating data analysis in an efficient manner to identifyissues and propose remediation actions; coordinating data sourcing from dataproviders

  • Identifyingstrategic solutions for data storage, proposing implementation, new processesand controls; may assist with design of storage structures to fit businessneeds

This role is varied and demanding and requires the ability to think strategically and partner with diverse teams to drive efficiency and process enhancement. In order to be successful in this role, the individual should have the following background and skill set:

  • Extensive experience in SecuritiesServices or Investment Banking with a solid understanding of one or moreof Investor Services’ products, markets, and client base

  • Highlymotivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership,possesses a sense of urgency, intellectual curiosity, and resourcefulness

  • Ability to synthesize largeamounts of information and propose recommendations

  • Experience working on projectteams is a must; experience on process and/or technology related projects wouldbe highly beneficial

  • Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills; and ability toleverage the wider organisation to meet objectives

  • Goodorganizational skills - manages & prioritizes multiple tasks acrossdifferent time horizons within deadlines

  • A good understanding of controlsand how to apply them to different processes and businesses

  • Stronganalytical, problem solving & process re-engineering skills

  • Strong PC skills particularlyExcel, and PowerPoint; Access and Visio would be a benefit too

Ability to deal with issues on a global, cross business level.
