The JPMorgan Chase Legal Department is responsible for providing comprehensive legal services to the Firm and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Firm’s lines of business and corporate staff areas. Legal Chief OperatingOffice (“Legal COO”) Function Description:

The Legal COO helps attorneys make the best use of their time by providing centralized services and tools to: i) develop professional skills, ii) manage projects and achieve business objectives, iii) optimize processes and technology, and iv) engage and connect employees. Further, the Legal COO helps the Legal Management Team establish and execute the department’s objectives by driving and supporting initiatives to: i) implement firmwide standards and governance, ii) provide financial discipline and risk controls, iii) guide the people agenda and iv) drive best practices.

Legal Practices GroupDescription:

The Legal Practices Group is part of the Legal COO function. Responsibilities of the Legal Practices Group include:

  • Partnering with Legal staff to define, document andredesign policies and procedures; conduct benchmark studies, identify gapsin processes, and monitor action plans

  • Providing operational support across Legal,including real estate management, support for key applications, intranetmanagement, end-user technology management, legal research, publicationsubscription management, SharePoint development and maintenance, employeeon-boarding and off-boarding

  • Provide conciergesupport services to the Legal department, globally

Description

We are currently seeking a Legal Operations Sr. Associate who can work with the Legal senior management team to manage and design the Flash and Significant Matters executive reporting. The Legal Operations Sr. Associate will run all aspects of the reporting process for which s/he is responsible. Activities may include developing and implementing process enhancements to the reporting work flows, obtaining feedback from clients, analyzing various data sources, and publishing executive reports across the Legal department.

Candidates for this role should be highly-motivated, self-starters with strong analytical and quantitative skills. The candidate will work closely with senior managers, so strong written and oral communication and presentation skills are a must. Previous experience in strategic and tactical process improvement initiatives is highly desirable. An understanding of banking operations and technology is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-enddelivery of key executive reports as part of major change programs and processimprovement projects across Legal. Gather information from key contacts acrossthe organization to communicate progressagainst significant matters

  • Workclosely with senior management to develop and refine reporting process to streamlinethe data collection and distribution of reports.

  • Compilepresentations to summarize findings/recommendations and take part insyndication process to senior management

  • Partnerwith stakeholders to create and launch tactical and strategic reporting process

  • Buildand maintain excellent relationships with internal clients and colleagues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years legal, operations, consulting, or managementconsulting experience, ideally with an external law firm or in-house legalfunction (with a focus on legal operations), policy/process development ora combination thereof

  • In-depth understanding of legal processes and practicespreferred

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills,comfortable working with senior business partners and presenting to asenior audience

  • Highly organized, extremely detail andcontrol-oriented

  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships withcolleagues, desire to be flexible and think strategically

  • Superior decision-making and problem-solvingskills

  • Strong project management skills; must be able tomanage multiple projects concurrently

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, strong interest inlearning, effective under pressure and willing to take personalresponsibility/accountability

  • Expert knowledge of MS PowerPoint and MSWord

  • Good consensus builder, possessing strong influencingand negotiating skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in financial services, particularly inthe areas of legal or compliance operations

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • The preferred location for this position is OH
