JPMorgan Chase Commercial Bank Risk - REB Portfolio Management Team Manager - Managing Director in Houston, Texas

Develop and lead the newly defined REB Portfolio Management Team reporting to REB Credit Risk Director (CRO). The manager will be responsible for the formation, oversight and administration of the new Portfolio Management Team . The framework for this new team was created as part of a multi-phase design effort with key stakeholders. This leader will use this blue-print and roadmap to build out this new function as a leader in REB. This role directly contributes to the CRO’s risk objectives, which includes enhanced portfolio management across the entire REB organization, regulatory / control discipline, credit risk process enhancements and new Real Estate Markets Surveillance reporting. The role will also serve as the point of contact for partners in WLO, Middle Office, Audit, Compliance, Risk Reporting and CB Risk Administration. This team will closely partner with REB Coverage and Underwriting to ensure robust and accurate portfolio reporting by performing and overseeing a variety of enhanced data management and portfolio management functions.


· Team Formation:

o Deeper definition of functions to be transitioned in the team

o Present plans and updates to Senior Executives and Stakeholders

o Lead team through transition and manage change

· Functional Management – manage and lead functions to include:

o Portfolio Management: § Enhanced, improved and in-depth portfolio monitoring § Coordination with CRE Market Surveillance team § Interact with REB Risk Underwriting Team, Client Executives and CRE Stakeholder

o Annual Review Process: § Drive consistency and quality § Monitor timeliness

o Financial Statement and Covenant Monitoring

o Guarantor / Sponsor Analysis

o Data Management: § REMI – data ownership, quality and timely updates § CREWS, CSR, Deep Dives, Watchlist

o Controls and Compliance : § CLASS Exceptions § R2D2

o Credit Authority – approve / sign-off Annual Reviews

o Management and Leadership – all aspects of team management

  • Educational background BS in Finance or Accounting with an MBA preferred

  • 15+ of years of Risk /Real Estate experience

  • Successful leader of change, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, work and partner across segments and LOB’s, and thrive/excel in a fast paced and constantly evolving environmen

  • Experienced leader – with proven track record of developing talent, managing teams, setting and achieving organizational goals and delivering results

  • Broad knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Industry

  • Risk Systems Knowledge

  • Experience and Expertise in Process Design
