The Securitized Products Group (“SPG”) engages in origination, syndicate, sales & trading, financing, and principal investments activities. Asset classes include: mortgage-backed securities (commercial, residential, agency and non-agency), mortgage loans, consumer asset-backed securities and receivables (auto, credit card, student, equipment loans).
We are looking for a VP level business manager who will support the Securitized Products business. The role will be based in New York.
Key functions include:
Understand and execute on business strategy and priorities
Optimize bottom line business performance (brokerage, cost base, balance sheet, capital utilization etc.)
Responsibility for identifying and delivering, with our partners in Ops/Tech/MO, key strategic projects
Provide day to day support and direction to the Front office and its support groups
Ensure support agendas (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, HR) are aligned with business priorities
Understand and be involved in the business planning process, partnering with finance and the business to help budget and track our expenses and revenues.
Ensure alignment of direct and indirect expense allocations with the current business environment
Act as a business representative both internally and also at external industry forums to help drive change and protect revenues.
Ability to identify and work to mitigate business risks
Ensure business strategy considers market structure and regulatory changes
Strong knowledge of fixed income products and securitizations
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related area
Commercial acumen with a focus on the bottom line
Delivery focus: organized, flexible, ability to prioritize, action oriented with the ability to work under pressure
Pro-active with the ability and willingness to take the initiative
Excellent communication skills
Analytical approach to problem solving
Strong partnership skills
Strong technical knowledge (Securities and Loan product experience essential)
Prior experience in Business Management/COO function is a plus
