JPMorgan Chase CIB Risk - QR Wholesale Credit Risk Project Manager in New York, New York

Job Summary:

This is a hands-on Project Manager role within JPMorgan’s Investment Bank Quantitative Research (QR) Wholesale Credit Risk Group. The Group develops models to calculate regulatory and economic credit risk capitals, forecast credit losses and reserves. This person will join the Project Manager Team managing high profile critical regulatory deliverables (IFRS 9, CECL, CCAR, DFAST) as well as business driven projects (ECC, ICAAP/Risk Appetite etc). He/she will responsible for all project management activities covering the full life cycle of model development, model implementation, data loading, data validation, model documentation and model review etc. He/she will play a key role, interacting with all internal QR teams and representing QR to the external stakeholders including business, model governance and review groups, various levels of firmwide PMO groups, as well as our IT partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Construct integrated end-to-end QR project plans, with detailed milestones for all QR teams.

  2. Monitor and track projects progress.

  3. Report projects status to internal, external stakeholders, as well as various PMO groups.

  4. Proactively identify issues and risks. Recommend/facilitate resolutions.

  5. Proactively identify both internal and external dependencies, and come up with resolutions to manage the dependencies.

  6. Prepare meeting materials and arrange meeting logistics.

  7. Organize and facilitate internal and external meetings. Document meeting minutes and follow up to close the action items.

  8. Represent QR in working groups with external stakeholders.

  9. Understand the end-to-end business/process flow of the department and recommend creative ideas for business/ process improvement.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in Finance/Business/Economics or in computer/information systems/financial engineering.

  2. 3-5 years hands on experience as a project manager or senior business analyst functioning as a project manager in the financial industry.

  3. 3+ years’ work experience in Risk Management, Credit Risk and Model Risk preferred, Market Risk, Operational Risk and other Risk areas acceptable.

  4. Good knowledge about financial markets, financial products, and financial regulations/rules (CCAR, DFAST, IFRS 9, CECL, SR11-7, ICAAP etc)

  5. Excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills.

  6. Excellent communication, collaboration, organization and presentation skills.

  7. Excellent multi-tasking skills and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.

  8. Must take ownership and have strong sense of urgency to delivery projects on time with high quality with minimal supervision.

  9. Intellectually curious, adaptable and flexible team player who works well under pressures/tight timelines.

  10. Proficient in MS Projects, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint. Knowledge of financial modeling (e.g., probability theory, statistics, numerical analysis) is plus but not required.
