The Business Analyst will work within the Data Operations Group to support the Data Management Program for JPMIS. This is a newly created role in the Data Operations team within JPMIS and the candidate MUST be comfortable in supporting the framework and foundation of the overall Data Management program.
Implement and operationalize the Data Management strategy for JPMIS
Develop the playbook of critical functions in support of the data management strategy such as data profiling and classification.
Create transparency of all inbound datasets to JPMIS
Enrich and accelerate data registration of all inbound data by identifying PI domains and data and other metadata resulting from the data profiling and classification scans.
Establish, enforce and operationalize the policies and procedures with respect to maintaining the highest quality of data assets inventory
Ensure that every data asset that is inventoried, has a data owner, data steward and data custodian assigned to it
Work with the data operations support team to curate data as necessary
Develop and maintain the JPMIS data dictionary as part of the data inventory process
Ability to build training and learning curriculum for newly created data management functions
Be proficient in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra and Global IDs)
The Data Management Business Analyst will establish and maintain working relationships within all JPMIS teams. Team work is important to success and above all open lines of communication will be required.
10 + years’ experience of working in financial services preferred
Advanced knowledge within the data management and data governance disciplines
Experience in taking strategic data programs and operationalizing them within a formal data ecosystem
Strongly familiar with data concepts such as Data Registration, Data Ingestion, Data Discovery, Data Profiling, Data Standards, Metadata Management, Data Dictionary and Data Classification
Previous roles in advancing newly created data function would be extremely valuable
Experience multi-tasking projects originating from multiple stakeholders and lines of business
Deep knowledge of the business’ data practices, sources, and analytical tools to provide thought leadership, context, and best practices to meet client deliverables.
Strong interpersonal skills, a sense of urgency and focus on deadlines, highly developed time management skills are a must
Excellent oral and written communication skills
