The team

Pyramid is a strategic platform for processing and risk managing equity derivatives in the Investment Bank. It is currently used by Equity Derivatives businesses globally. It is responsible for product modeling, trade capture, risk, event and position management, providing the books and records to the bank for trades and feeding downstream back office systems such as accounting, settlements, legal documentation and regulatory reporting. The products traded on this platform range from high volume listed and flow derivative products to extremely complex over-the-counter structured and securitized derivatives.

The Role

Delivering high-quality and timely solutions on the Pyramid platform requires strong business analysis, stakeholder management, technical and problem solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excellent team-working skills; highly motivated

  • 2 plus years development experience in: Java 1.7/1.8,J2SE, Spring Framework, Service-Oriented Architectures / Web Services, TDD

  • Experience of multi-threaded systems is preferred.

  • Financial industry support experience is preferred.(Brokerage/banking is preferable)

  • Unix experience and be able to write shell scripts ordebug them

  • Tuning Java applications and experience with runningprofilers and detecting and resolving various performance issues andmemory leak issues

  • Proven ability to understand and communicate technicalconcepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.

  • Strong independent research, investigation andevaluation skills

  • Ability to clearly define and articulate technicalsolutions

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentationcommunication skills

  • Confidence in communicating internally at all levels;candidate will be dealing with front office, middle office and technologyteams on a frequent basis who are both business and technicallysophisticated

  • Ability to coherently construct and present businessrequirements and solution based on input from various sources

  • Strong time management skills; efficient atmulti-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple businessdemands on-time, to a high-level standard
