Reference Data Operations is an organization within the Firmwide and Corporate & Investment Bank Chief Data Office that provides data governance and operational utilities for core reference and master data that is used across the firm’s Lines of Business. Client Reference Data is a corporate utility responsible for external data management operations firmwide.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in the day to day operations and becomes a subject matter expert (SME) on the various BAU activities that help supplement the project research and management .

  • Conduct heavy data management analysis, review and decisioning while managing day to day project activities

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Business Groups on tracking and achieving daily, weekly and monthly volume targets on data remediation projects

  • Master multiple systems / platforms working with multiple product sets

  • Maintain essential business, client and corporate data in systems to facilitate accurate reporting

  • Ensuring accuracy / quality control standards are met on data management related activities and non-disclosure of client information by preserving client confidentiality

  • Researching on any queries / requests sent by the Business Partners / Counterparts and replying to the same within allocated response time

  • Drive active participation in process improvements / automation / enhancements to current activities

  • Participate in UAT (user acceptance testing) on enhancements and changes to applicable systems; including analyzing the impact of enhancements on reporting

  • Prepare materials for the Working Group; document decisions/discussions and update the reporting/tracking tools accordingly. Track stakeholder sign-off and escalate to management, if necessary

  • Define, collect and prepare data quality metrics for project and management reporting; identify key data quality issues, trends, and observations; collaborate with the Chief Data Office’s Data and External Data Domain

  • Produce project materials at all stages of project development lifecycle - current state process flows, business use cases, gap analyses, functional specifications, test plans and test scripts, and user training materials

  • Manage timely execution of project plan and provide regular updates to project stakeholders

  • Bachelor’s degree and data/project management experience, preferably in managing cross-LOB/functional projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand business and technical functions, process information quickly, and assess impacts to data elements

  • Highly organized, as the role requires heavy data mining and management

  • Ability to drive consensus across multiple LOBs and stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and motivations

  • Subject matter expertise with retail and/or wholesale processes, External Parties (including Customer, Issuers, Exchanges) reference data, reference data operational processes, and data lifecycle activities is preferred but not mandatory

  • Intermediate/Expert knowledge level of Microsoft Excel. Word and Powerpoint

  • Experience with data query and data analysis tools and techniques is strongly desired

  • Demonstrated attention to detail

  • Able to communicate articulately, both written and verbally, to all levels of staff and management, and influence and support decisions

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
