Corporate Finance- Firm wide Financial Control-CIB Financial Control- Vice President

The Financial Control function is primarily focused on ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the Firm’s books and records with an emphasis on general ledger, operating systems and infrastructure controls across the entire lifecycle of the business.

A Financial Control Accounting Infrastructure Lead will be required to work closely with line of business controllers, technology, and external reporting teams. He or she will engage with the business partners to understand business requirements and enhancements, regulatory and industry initiatives, and strategic infrastructure decisions impacting JP Morgan globally.

Primary Responsibilities of a Financial Control Accounting Infrastructure Lead will include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the LOBs on business driven initiatives through accounting schema updates, reference data enhancements, and system improvements.

  • Partner with technology on strategic system migrations to drive prioritization, testing plans, and successful implementation and incorporation into the JPM infrastructure framework.

  • Drive the creation, ongoing support and communication of key Financial Control metrics to LOB stakeholders.

  • Focus on industry and regulatory requirements for both accounting and reporting.

  • Become SME for financial control teams on the strategic derivative infrastructure.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of securities and derivatives products, inclusive of product accounting, flows, and reporting

  • Comfort liaising with senior management.

  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships within the various product aligned businesses and technology groups

  • Existing relationships and networks within JPMorgan CIB community would be an advantage

  • Ability to understand requirements of business, industry, and corporate drivers

Strong analytical skills

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

  • Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues
