Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others
The Strategic Analytics Officer position will be responsible for the Collection Risk Analytics function for the auto The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of complex analytic projects, including designing and developing segmentation strategies for auto and student collection management. The candidate will also assist with developing tests to determine the effectiveness of new ideas. Targeted strategies will be developed based on data analysis and testing to improve overall effectiveness of the recovery business. There is significant exposure to collection policy related projects, loss forecasting, risk oversight, and other key risk initiatives. The candidate will work across business areas such as Finance, Legal, Operations, and IT to offer strategic direction on collection risk strategies. The role needs to bring a good balance between business acumen and strong analytical skills to manage collection risk dynamics.
Work independently to successfully complete end to end process related to analytical tasks starting with problem identification, defining objectives, data discovery, synthesis and analysis of large & complex data points, formulating concise conclusions with actionable recommendations, and creating presentations to pitch findings and/or strategies.
Develop analytics and champion/challenger capabilities around various strategies to develop and maintain policies for collections.
Monitor delinquencies and loss trends to ensure stable and consistent portfolio performance.
Identify key risk drivers. Analytically segment portfolio along these factors. Assess concentrations, exposures and exception levels.
Actively participate and present in Risk Credit Committee meetings.
Work with Finance and Risk partners to offer guidance on loss forecasting.
Leverage Central modeling teams to build new scorecard and validate existing scoring models as it pertains to their use in collections strategies.
Work with Operations, IT, and Legal/Compliance partners to ensure that policy and strategy changes get implemented in a smooth and timely fashion.
Support efforts around the CCB Customer default risk resolution initiative in developing a function centric view.
5+ years of relevant analytics/modeling experience, preferably in financial services industry.
Comfortable working with ambiguity and finding creative ways to enhance analytic capabilities while having a broad view of the business needs.
Experience utilizing SAS and SQL.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret large amounts of data, including interpretation of model results and its impact in both operational and financial areas.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly present analytical findings and make business recommendations via the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects across cross-functional groups.
Evidence of strong initiative, productivity and teamwork.
MBA / Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field preferred
