The Digital Payments organization is a motivated, forward thinking team comprised of high-talent product managers with a singular focus of delivering innovative payment services with the most important platforms. Chase is seeking an experienced product manager to help lead and define key product features critical to the success of our partnerships with third party digital wallets (e.g., Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay, etc.). In this role, the candidate will drive the marketing and capabilities roadmap and develop strategies to provide industry leading payments experience for Chase retail and credit card customers.

The ideal candidate understands the mobile & emerging payments landscape as an avid user of digital platforms and products. The Successful Candidate will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Identify customer needs by leveraging design thinking and test and learn approaches

  • Separate mainstream from edge use cases (identify 20% features that will provide 80% of impact) and translate use cases into a product roadmap that allows to “fail fast” if necessary

  • Track traditional and emerging competitors, identify disruptive trends, and demonstrate a strong understanding of payments technology and the payments landscape

  • Understand banking and payments business models and allocate budgets against near term and long term priorities

  • Translate product visions into working software in an agile way of working, understanding technical architecture, development productivity and pre and post release processes

  • Create API catalogs and oversee API builds

  • Successfully lead diverse teams and collaborate across the company and industry

In addition to being a seasoned, well trained professional, the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to inspire confidence from, and to collaborate closely with technology leaders and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define product initiatives for new features and optimizations of existing ones, and incorporate them into product and marketing roadmaps;

  • Take a lead role in designing and executing marketing and new feature launches in an agile way for working, collaborating with design, engineering, operations, and central marketing teams to drive new product initiatives;

  • Engage closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define capabilities and experiences in third party channels that meets business and consumer needs, while meeting critical deadlines and budget constraints;

  • Integrate data analytics, product metrics, user experience research, competitive and market analysis, and company goals to drive prioritization of product initiatives;

  • Track and analyze metrics compared to industry benchmarks, publish reports on product performance, trends and risks/opportunities for both short and long term;

  • Understand, manage, and communicate prioritization of features, with a mind toward user and business benefits and tradeoffs. Identify market opportunities and define product strategy to reflect those;

  • Manage cross-impacted initiatives and stakeholder communications to ensure business needs are met. Set and manage expectations through effective written and oral communications;

  • Support teams that track and manage business case metrics and financial planning models ensuring that product delivery stays on track and on budget

  • 10+ years of marketing and product management or relevant experience as well as record of individual technical achievement;

  • Expertise in defining and building out marketing capabilities roadmap and marketing plans;

  • Ability to think strategically and to connect the dots to the bigger picture, while still comfortable diving into the details required to ensure successful execution

  • Thorough understanding of financial modeling, forecasting and tracking as it relates to marketing campaign management and capability delivery;

  • Experience with bringing together cross functional teams and leading execution in an agile delivery model;

  • Thorough understanding of digital and mobile payments and digital marketing;

  • Ability to influence stakeholders with diverse points of view and build coalition

  • Structured thinker, effective communicator with excellent written communication skills;

  • Ability to prioritize projects and efforts according to business need and industry trends;

  • Familiarity with the business services and offerings associated with Chase;

  • Highly self-motivated and ability to remain calm under intense pressure

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Business Management or comparable field of study;

  • Relevant experience working in retail banking, payments, e/m-commerce, online and mobile platforms

  • MBA Preferred
