Role Description

Reporting into the Finance & Business Manager for CFS Custody MO, Client Account Services, Agency Collateral Operations, & Client Billing Operations, which are parts of the Custody & Fund Services Operations (CFS Operations) within the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Line of Business, this role supports groups within the CFS Operations Team, a global 2,000 people organization accounting for $150mm of expenses. This position will require regular interaction with senior management across CIB F&BM, CIB Operations & Technology, as well as the front office stakeholders and corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reportingand monthly business reviews that provide clear, impactful explanations ofoperating results and variances based on relevant business events, and helpensure expense goals are achieved

  • Candidate will work closely with business heads of groups within CFSOperations in coordinating & helping them execute on key multi yearstrategic plans

  • Support management in preparing workforce analytics such asfunctional taxonomies, locational views, span & layer reviews

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

  • Support annual budget and periodic (monthly) forecasting processes

  • Support the month-end close process, coordinating expense accrualswith Controllers, understanding & re-forecasting new risks &opportunities and providing variance commentary

  • Support preparing financial (variance) analysis and walk forwards(expense and headcount) by key business themes

  • Support detailed Headcount tracking including allproductivity / location strategy reporting versus plan/target as well as any newbusiness growth initiatives

  • Support delivering monthly executive-level business reviews

  • Manage product allocation models/rules, reporting hierarchy andexamine incoming allocations

  • Implementing controls and best practices to ensure efficient,timely and accurate financial reporting

  • Reviewing expenses and identify potential reductions in the costbase to streamline business processes and improve profitability

  • Part of a high performance team, adding value to the greater team

  • 3+ years of experience in financialmanagement (planning, forecasting, budgeting and strong understanding ofboth finance and accounting practices)

  • Excellent quantitative, analyticalproblem solving and financial / data / business modeling skills

  • Ability to clearly communicatecomplex concepts to a non-financial audience, strong documentation andreporting skills

  • Strong presence, comfortableinteracting with and presenting to all levels of management

  • Superior attention to details andprocess skills; sense of urgency

  • Able to collaborate across lines ofbusinesses and work with central/corporate organizations

  • Capable of balancing multipleassignments simultaneously

  • Sound judgment, professionalmaturity and personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-orientedoutlook, possess courage to ask tough questions and challenge the statusquo

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Officeapplications and working knowledge ofsystems used by CIB Finance (Essbase, SAP, CMR, GLW,GDW, Extrasheet, etc)preferred

  • Advanced excel (formulas, macro, pivots,power pivots, charts, web-query) preferred
