This position is responsible for leading the Midwest Escrow Middle Office team based in Chicago. The team’s primary responsibilities include escrow contract negotiation, new account set-up, business related projects, ongoing escrow account administration, including customer service, cash movement, claims handling and fee billing. The Team Leader is responsible for leading these efforts in a risk controlled manner that is commercially focused and helps drive new business through strong client satisfaction and employee engagement.
This position reports directly to the Regional Manager of the Escrow Middle Office. This position partners very closely with Escrow Product Management, Sales, Operations, Legal, Tax, Compliance and Risk Management in driving results.
New Business Activities:
Understand the business purpose and deal structure fornew business opportunities andimplement escrow solutions that drive repeat business
Provide strong customer service by responding quicklyto client requests, offering solutions to client needs, and developingmeaningful client relationships
Lead team in the review andnegotiation of escrow contracts. Ensure that team is well informed and trainedon all critical JPMorgan legal standards. Negotiation must occur swiftly in a proactiveand professional manner that balances both flexibility/ease of doing businessto meet the client’s needs and the preservation of JPMorgan’s risk profile toprotect the bank
Partner withsales to seamlessly onboard new clients and assist in generating newbusiness through positive interaction with existing clients and referralsources. Take ownership of clientrelationships
Ensure that clientsatisfaction rates meet or exceed expectations via regular and activeparticipation with clients (including law firms)
Meet business demands in a rapid transactionalenvironment with a highly responsive service
Identify ways to improve processes/procedures toenhance quality and/or productivity
Optimize accountprofitability by maximizing JPMorgan fee and investment revenue opportunities
Strong ability to manage a variety of concurrent priorities includingclient needs, employee development, operational issues and ongoing projects
Resolve issuesescalated by team members

Display a well-honed ability to assess the risk factors of escrowtransactions, including client risk, operational risk, reputational risk orotherwise
Ensure dealinformation is set up on all operating systems and contractual obligationsdenoted
Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) within acceptable ranges
Ensure that account set-ups, ticklers, overdrafts, balances, accountsreceivables and other key metrics are managed appropriately.
Escalate issues to management as well as legal, risk and compliancepartners, as appropriate
Maintain working knowledge of policies and procedures
Serve as subject matter expert on alloperating systems
Firm understanding of USA PATRIOT ACT requirements
Partner with operations team to execute core operational components ofthe escrow business. Thisresponsibility requires extensive knowledge of the following:
Account Set-ups and terminations
Cash processing, including wiretransfer systems and check processing
Handling escrow claim andobjection processing
Securities processing (book-entry/physical, equity and debt)
Online system capabilities viaJPMorgan ACCESS
Bachelor Degree in Business,Finance or Management (Masters degree or legal experience preferred)
10-15 years work experiencein financial services environment; trust, escrow or treasury servicesexperience preferred
Strong management andleadership skills
Strong sales and customerservice orientation
Strong document review,negotiation skills
Excellent organizationalskills and ability to multi- task in a fast paced environment
