Commercial Card provides payment solutions to businesses, governments and other institutions for commercial expenditures, including business supplies, maintenance, repair, operational expenses and travel. Our solutions and best practices offer the control, reporting, reconciliation and financial benefits organizations need to streamline payment processes and help turn accounts payable departments into profit centers. Our online management applications provide clients with the ability to establish spending limits, create authorizations and workflows, streamline reporting and enforce buying policies throughout an organization.

The User Experience Designer will be responsible for executing the UXD role in the development process across various Commercial Card reporting products, specifically providing input and expertise on the usability and design for various online platforms.

You will function to collaborate with Business and IT partners to develop design parameters, visual representations, and wireframes for all new product functionality.

You will:

  • Work directly with cross functional teams of business stakeholders, analysts, architects, developers, and copywriters to design, develop, and implement robust UI's for our Commercial Card Applications

  • Define interactive UX prototypes that illustrate and document the desired online experience and are employed to facilitate the user testing process

  • Define and document presentation layer specifications for Internet projects and online standards.

  • Research the latest presentation layer technologies, UX concepts and best practices, online trends, and provides recommendations back to management, the UX team and the Architecture team for consideration

This position encompasses complete UX design with emphasis on improving the client experience by defining the UI patterns of the online platforms as a Visual Design Lead that all UX Designers will adhere.

  • 5+ years of experience in experience design and graphic / visual development required, commercial card or financial services background strongly preferred

  • Team management experience

  • Experience with Agile development, including prototype development

  • Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs; Ability to run several projects at once

  • Effective communication of design solutions across roles & levels

  • Demonstrated visual design expertise; capacity for creating engaging and usable designs and layouts with a propensity towards simplification

  • Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards

  • Review market and competitive intelligence, business drivers, needs and strategies with business and technology partners to understand implications for existing or new interfaces; ensure customer point of view is represented in business, interface and technology decisions; proactively identify opportunities to improve usability, streamline and optimize the client experience.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the current state of web technology and best practices.

  • Practical knowledge of user-centric design methodologies, usability principles, web-based information architecture and design.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

  • Undergraduate degree required (preferably BFA or BA in related field), graduate degree preferred
