JPMorgan Chase Data Analytics Specialist - Associate in Chicago, Illinois
JPMorgan Chase’s (JPMC) Internal Audit Department, which is comprised of over 1,200 Auditors and Credit Reviewers globally, reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is further accountable to the Chairman and CEO, senior management, and external regulators. Audit is an independent risk assessment function established within the organization to evaluate, test, and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management's system of internal control.
This role is for an experienced professional to join the Consumer & Community Banking Data Analytics Team. The position will provide data analytic support for the Commercial Banking audit team. This position is for someone who is a critical thinker, has knowledge of Commercial Banking, and has experience providing Data Analytic support to an audit team. This position will be based in Chicago and the primary focus of this role is to develop and drive data analytics for Commercial Banking audit activities.
Partner with the Commercial Banking team to analyze needs and recommend solutions to help execute audit activities in the most effective way utilizing Data Analytic techniques (e.g., by enabling full-population vs. sampling testing)
Perform full-population data retrievals and/or sampling on large data sets, independently re-perform business processes, and identify exceptions
Design data analytics queries/tools/methods to support various types of activities.
Develop requirements, design, code, test, and analyze results using available tools/infrastructure to provide support on audit activities using available tools/infrastructure
Proactively identify key data sources and obtain access/feeds/files necessary to perform data analytics for testing and continuous monitoring
Manage relationship and communication with key stakeholders (Consumer Credit Review management)
Develop innovative, re-usable self-service tools that can be leveraged by the reviewers
Partner with peer data analytics teams to share ideas and enhance skills across the department
Comply with JPMorgan Chase technology and data standards
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Data Analytics, Audit, Computer Science, MIS, or Accounting preferred)
Three years of experience in financial services, internal audit, data analytics, technology, compliance or risks/controls
Strong knowledge of Commercial Banking operations, products and regulations is a plus
Experience with some of the following in order to query, transform, and/or present data: Excel/Access VBA, SQL, QlikView, ACL, SAS, Monarch, Business Objects, Teradata, Toad, BRIO/Hyperion, Tableau, Hive, Hadoop, etc.
Experience working with complex data sets and environments, drawing conclusions and reporting findings
Proven ability to oversee several tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner with a track record in creative and successful problem-solving
Proven track record of developing and delivering a sustainable analytical tools and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability
Stay abreast of new tools and technologies to assist the team in creating the most efficient and effective solutions
Ability to learn to use new software or languages as necessary
Professional maturity and the ability to work/deliver with limited supervision
Excellent partnership and influencing skills
Detailed knowledge of technology infrastructure and associated risk and controls are a plus.
