The Philanthropy Centre of the J.P. Morgan Private Bank enhances philanthropic impact by offering our clients and their families strategic and innovative advice, thought leadership and collaborative opportunities.

The Senior Philanthropy Advisor assists individuals and families in various elements of their charitable endeavors including, but not limited to, defining and articulating short and long-term goals, formalizing family governance and decision-making, increasing knowledge of specific program areas, and developing plans for execution. As a member of the Philanthropy Centre, Philanthropy Advisors bring knowledge and connectivity on the philanthropy, nonprofit and public policy sectors. Advisors also contribute to the development of publications and forums that provide learning opportunities for burgeoning and established philanthropists.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistin securing new wealth management business, in collaboration with banking teamsand product specialists. Ability to relate to and respond to the needs ofa broad spectrum of individuals and institutions, including: businessowners and their families; inheritors; private foundations; donor advisedfunds; and public charity endowments.

  • Adviseon and facilitate introductions to experts to promote best practices inphilanthropy related to vision and mission statements; private foundationgovernance, succession and operations; scaling and formalizinggrantmaking; and assessment of charitable activities.

  • Attendand, if required, facilitate family meetings, board/trustee meetings, andother philanthropy focused gatherings that will help clients continue toadvance and to execute on their charitable endeavors.

  • Maintaina strong professional and community network and broad understanding of thetarget market community to build and maintain relationships with clients,prospective clients, and content experts.

  • Assistin the planning and execution of educational forums and other client activitiesdesigned to highlight best practices in philanthropy.

The successful candidatewill have the following:

  • Bachelor’sDegree

  • 7-10years’ experience in the non-profit and/or private foundationsectors. Ideally, candidate will have program and at least someoperational experience that will strengthen their ability to adviseclients on their specific situations.

  • Demonstratedskills set in writing, public speaking and communications.

  • Willingnessto travel for business.

  • Willingnessto work in a dynamic, evolving and fast paced corporate setting.

  • Comfortwith working on multiple relationships and projects simultaneously.
