Dealer Services (DS) is a Commercial Lending business within Auto Finance and specializes in lending to new car dealers in the US with sales ranging from small business to public auto dealerships. DS provides floorplan, real estate, acquisition and commercial loans, as well as treasury products. DS has sales teams throughout the country, four Underwriting offices, and two Operations offices. DS is one of the largest bank-owned floorplan lenders in the US, having relationships with more than 75% of all US franchised automotive dealers.
DS Risk Management
This position will be a part of the Risk Reporting & Analytics team. The DS Risk team is focused on identifying portfolio trends and assessing, prioritizing and remediating risks associated with the commercial auto portfolio. The DS Risk team provides support to the credit approval and credit maintenance functions, supports ad hoc and strategic projects within DS, the Wholesale Center of Excellence, and the Consumer and Community Banking line of business (CCB).
Portfolio Analyzer (PA) is used in DS for financial statement spreading, analysis and financial covenant testing. The Wholesale Credit Risk Business Analyst is expected to be a subject matter expert in the PA system and spread policy and procedures. The Business Analyst will work extensively with various functional teams within DS and across CCB’s Wholesale Center of Excellence including bankers, underwriters and credit analysts. The Business Analyst is expected to provide timely support to these teams in responding to PA related inquiries, resolving issues and providing necessary training. The Analyst will also participate in projects as assigned.
The Business Analyst is expected to have a professional demeanour and strong communication skills as the role will also involve external interactions with the system vendor and DS customers.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in Credit Underwriting and/or DS spread procedures, knowledge of Portfolio Analyzer, strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Primary point of contact for Portfolio Analyzer system related questions and support
Ensure accuracy of data within Portfolio Analyzer
Provide spread training to Credit Analysts, including quality review and error reporting
Assist with Electronic Statement Entry customer on-boarding and training and manage ESE reporting needs
Work with vendor on various system issues and enhancements
Provide on-going and ad hoc reporting & analysis
Provide support to Credit Underwriting team as directed by manager
Projects and project management as directed by manager
Communicate analysis, recommendations, and complex issues in a clear & concise manner
A minimum of 3 years’ experience preferably in risk management or business analysis.
MS Office proficiency with strong Excel skills; SQL experience a plus.
Strong written and communication skills with the ability to present information & clearly explain findings and recommendations to management
Attention to detail and strong organization skills
Knowledge of Portfolio Analyzer system preferred
Experience in Auto Finance, Underwriting or Commercial Lending industry desired
