JPMorgan Chase Data Analytics Specialist - Associate in Columbus, Ohio

JPMorgan Chase’s (JPMC) Internal Audit Department, which is comprised of over 1,200 Auditors and Credit Reviewers globally, reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is further accountable to the Chairman and CEO, senior management, and external regulators. Audit is an independent risk assessment function established within the organization to evaluate, test, and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management's system of internal control.

The Consumer Credit Review team within the JPMC Internal Audit Department is responsible for reviewing the credit process in retail lending portfolios at the firm. The team focuses on Consumer & Community Banking (Auto Finance, Business Banking, Card Services, and Home Lending) and consumer-related portfolios within Asset & Wealth Management.

The Credit Review team performs reviews of JPMC retail loan portfolios that include an evaluation of the adequacy and accuracy of lending decisions, consistent application of risk policy and credit procedures, analysis of underwriting standards and practice, and determining through ongoing monitoring the overall assessment of asset quality. Furthermore, the team assesses whether sufficient controls are in place to mitigate credit risk to the firm.

This role is for an experienced professional to join the Consumer & Community Banking Data Analytics Team. This position will be based in Wilmington, Delaware and the primary focus of this role is to assist Consumer Credit Review’s Card team in developing and delivering a new Continuous Monitoring framework and ongoing support for Credit Reviews.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with Consumer Credit Review Credit Card team to assist in building out data analytic framework for Continuous Monitoring and Data Analytic support

  • Perform full-population data retrievals and/or sampling on large data sets, independently re-perform business processes, and identify exceptions

  • Design data analytics queries/tools/methods to support various types of activities including: Credit Reviews and Continuous Monitoring

  • Develop requirements, design, code, test, and analyze results using available tools/infrastructure to provide support on audit activities using available tools/infrastructure

  • Proactively identify key data sources and obtain access/feeds/files necessary to perform data analytics for testing and continuous monitoring

  • Manage relationship and communication with key stakeholders (Consumer Credit Review management)

  • Develop innovative, re-usable self-service tools that can be leveraged by the reviewers

  • Partner with peer data analytics teams to share ideas and enhance skills across the department

  • Comply with JPMorgan Chase technology and data standards and policies

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Data Analytics, Audit, Computer Science, MIS, or Accounting preferred)

  • 5 years of related experience (financial services, internal audit, data analytics, technology, compliance or risks/controls)

  • Strong knowledge of credit card operations, products, and regulations.

  • Experience with some of the following in order to query, transform, and/or present data: Excel/Access/VBA, SQL, QlikView, ACL, SAS, Monarch, Business Objects, Teradata, Toad, BRIO/Hyperion, Tableau, Hive, Hadoop, etc.

  • Experience working with complex data sets and environments, drawing conclusions and reporting findings

  • Proven ability to oversee several tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner with a track record in creative and successful problem-solving

  • Proven track record of developing and delivering a sustainable analytical tools and processes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability

  • Stay abreast of new tools and technologies to assist the team in creating the most efficient and effective solutions

  • Ability to learn to use new software or languages as necessary

  • Professional maturity and the ability to work/deliver with limited supervision

  • Excellent partnership and influencing skills

  • Detailed knowledge of technology infrastructure and associated risk and controls are a plus

  • Prepared to travel as required
