JPMorgan Chase Home Lending Product Innovation Associate in Columbus, Ohio

The JPMorgan Chase Home Lending Product and Innovation Team provides strategic vision, product development, and process innovation with the goal of building a transformational lending experience for Chase Home Lending customers. The Home Lending Product Innovation Team will spearhead efforts to create compelling mortgage products and programs that appeal to both customers and investors in the resulting mortgage backed securities.

The Product and Innovation team is composed of innovation work and a more traditional product management function. The innovation team acts in a similar manner to an internal consulting group, addressing topics at the top of senior management agendas and at the forefront of the industry. Projects include developing innovative product and service offerings to improve customers’ experiences and to grow the business, identifying FinTech partnership opportunities to enhance customers’ digital experience and our operational efficiency, and creating a customer engagement strategy tailored to provide a best in class experience.

Our successful candidate will work as part of small project teams solving complex challenges critical to reshaping the Home Lending business. The position represents an excellent opportunity for candidates to:

  • Be exposed to and influence the strategic priorities for the Home Lending business

  • Develop and launch initiatives and programs to improve the mortgagecustomer experience by leveraging digital capabilities, especially forexisting Chase customers

  • Develop/deepen expertise in the mortgage business

  • Be mentored and coached by experienced and talented managers onproblem solving, analytical, communications and leadership skills

  • Gain exposure to senior leadership primarily within Home Lending, aswell as leaders in other lines of business on cross CCB issues

  • Ability to lead and implement improvement initiatives with aggressive timelines

Areas of responsibility

  • Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual frameworks and analyses

  • Analyzing customer, operational, and financial data to develop implications that support business decisions

  • Performing competitor/industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources

  • Proactively managing work to deliver critical business initiatives with both quality and speed

  • Building concise communication materials for senior management

  • Participating in and independently conducting internal and external interviews with key stakeholders

  • Working collaboratively with team members across the business and staff areas

  • Demonstrating experience in tailoring problem solving methodologiesto create tailored approaches for resolving business challenges


  • 2 years of experience at a premier managementconsulting firm, at an internal consulting/corporate strategy team, orroles that build similar skill sets (e.g., Strategic Analytics, CapitalMarkets, Equity Research)

  • Naturally analytical with a capability and desire to work toward solutions in areas of ambiguity

  • Ability to build and leverage relationships at all levels of the organization and influence decisions without direct authority

  • Excellent end-to-end problem solving skills and ability to prioritize issues and analysis

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and listeningskills – ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and achievegoals without direct control over resources

  • An outstanding ability to apply quantitativeanalytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently, and workwell in cross-functional teams

  • A track record demonstrating a high level of personalinitiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstratingentrepreneurial leadership

  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers

  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Financial Services, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), and/or Mortgage experience preferred
