The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas. This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.

Position available for an experienced documentation specialist in the JPMorgan Mutual Funds legal group to support the JPMorgan Mutual Funds and their registration with the SEC. The JPMorgan Mutual Fund complex offers a full array of mutual funds and ETFs in every asset class-money market, fixed-income, equity and alternative investments-domestic and international. The position provides exposure to all aspects of the JPMorgan Funds business and to the investment management legal groups. The individual will be responsible for the independent preparation and review of offering documents for the JPMorgan Funds. In particular, the individual will be responsible for drafting, updating and utilizing technology to input changes to mutual fund offering documents. This will include both the creation of new funds and the maintenance of existing funds utilizing registration statement software. The individual should have experience preparing mutual fund prospectuses, summary prospectuses, and statements of additional information. Experience working independently with financial printers and familiarity with the SEC filing process and comfort utilizing technology are important. Experience with other mutual fund related matters such as review of annual and semi-annual reports is a plus. The individual should have good interpersonal and organizational skills in order to participate in business committees and work with personnel from all areas of the business supporting the JPMorgan Funds including, product strategy and development, treasury, marketing, risk, compliance and portfolio management. Strong writing and time management skills are also critical.

  • 3+ years paralegal experience with mutual funds, registration and SEC filing process

  • Experience with annual report reviews a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple priorities at any given moment

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with multiple functions (status updates)

  • Strong writing skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word
