Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) Infrastructure Hosting Service (IHS) is responsible for service support and delivery for JPMorgan Chase's Global Integrated Compute Platform (ICP). Through its Global Service Desk and Global Command Centers, IHS provides global, coordinated diagnostic and support services.
Operations Delivery Leads support the overall ICP platform through planning and execution of strategic projects that improve the service offering, and are expected to have an extensive understanding of each functional area of the platform architecture. This includes multiple hardware and software stacks – including network, compute and virtualization, storage, and automation layers.
This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems. Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis thereafter. The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.
Constructing and leading project plans that drive remediation of systemic operational issues
Leading conversations between operations and our peer teams to ensure operational requirements are being met within the solutions being provided
Building risk models based on known incident patterns to anticipate potential issues and construct remediation plans to close those gaps
Reviewing operational metrics, ensure accuracy of the data, determine if gaps are present, and close them by working with the appropriate teams
Driving operational improvements that increase efficiency or enable us to expand our service capabilities
Organizing meetings, constructing materials, and delivering updates to GTI’s executive management team
Executing root cause reviews of closed high priority events to ensure operational issues are being handled efficiently and correctly
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science/Engineering
5+ years of incident resolution experience in an large scale operations environment
Strong English language skills (verbal and written) are required for this position
Demonstrated sense of ownership and drive to improve production operations
Proven ability to understand and troubleshoot complex problems under pressure
Excellent organizational and workload management capabilities across functional areas
Current certification or equivalent experience in any of the following technology areas:
VMware/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms
Cisco Nexus IP switching
EMC ScaleIO or NetApp SolidFire storage platforms
Programming background (Python or Java preferred)
