The Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) Project Management Group provides project management services to clients with qualified project management professionals that lead GTI programs and projects using Standard Project Management execution practices, tools and templates. As a GTI Program Manager, you will be responsible for the management of complex technology related programs and projects including LOB Technology demand, end user, network, distributed, mainframe, cyber security and real estate build out related services and technologies. These projects support the growth and operational stability of the JPMC business in addition to delivering enhanced technology and cost reductions into the operating environment. This is a senior role involved in the different stages of the success of a project including: the funding, planning, scheduling, implementation and tracking process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall accountability for the Implementation of multiple projects delivered under a Program umbrella, Technology Platform or Other Platforms

  • Ensure programs and underlying projects are delivered on time, on budget, on spec

  • Manage financials to include forecasting, understanding P&L, depreciation etc.

  • Develop, maintain & monitor the short-term & long-term roadmap/project plan of the program and develops business cases (in collaboration with the Project Managers) to support strategic vision/direction as necessary

  • Establishes Communication Strategy and Governance process and meetings. Ensure all stakeholders are aware of major changes of direction, priorities and cross impacts

  • Identifies single sponsor for program level reporting, escalations and accountability. Builds relationships with Sponsor and key stakeholders to quickly address program level issues and actions

  • Determines and sets effective team structure, including roles, responsibilities, and priorities

  • Ensures effective compliance with Scope, Change Control and Tollgate processes across the Program

  • Works closely with Resource Managers on the project pipeline to ensure the right skill-set Project Managers are assigned to support the specific project and program.

  • Project Managers will have a dotted-line reporting relationship and direct accountability to the Program Manager

  • Provides guidance to project managers (Project Life Cycle, best practices, content/subject matter expertise, leadership, project requirements understanding, etc.) and provides project oversight

  • Manages communication with senior management and stakeholders

  • Provides continuity across business processes and applications and looks to drive on-going process improvements and efficiencies to benefit future project execution across the program.

  • Conducts program level lessons learned session to identify process improvement opportunities

  • Collaborates with strategic vendor relationships incl. contract/SOW/RFP negotiations, status, and governance

  • Mentoring, coaching and assist with the development of less experienced team members

  • Ensure risk management strategies are followed and reviewed within guidelines

  • Plan and set project goals and milestones based on approved SOW, IDD, etc.

  • Responsible for development of requirements documentation and targets accordingly

  • Identify and secure resources including project team, vendors and consultants

  • Supervise the project management team and make sure proper project management standards and rigor is applied

  • Acts as the communications conduit to executive sponsor; conducts periodic regularly scheduled briefings/status updates

Technical Skills - Proficient in the following:

  • Project Task Estimation

  • Resource Scheduling

  • Compliance to Risk Management and Cyber Policies

  • Management and escalation of underlying project Risks/Issue/Change

  • Adherence to Standard Project Lifecycle

  • Budget / Financial Management including Business Case completion

  • Evaluation of impact to Total Cost of Ownership for multiple simultaneous, complex projects

  • Agile preferred not required

Work Experience:

  • IT Project Management experience managing multiple projects in multiple technologies, functions (e.g. transaction management, risk management etc.)

  • Knowledge of industry standard project management tools for financial and project reporting (i.e., Clarity, Beeline, etc.) desired

  • Knowledge and understanding of banking regulatory, compliance, risk and security aspects desired

  • Proven experience managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups required

  • Extensive experience with high dollar projects with a large amount of complexity and customer interface

  • Expert at delivering projects on time and within budget

  • Extensive experience at presenting metrics to key stakeholders

  • Proven experience in working with Outside Service Providers/Vendors/Customers

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across functions and teams, up and down the chain of command

  • Listening and gathering customer/user input; simplifying complex topics for non-technical audiences and preparing quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders

  • Ability to motivate Project team

  • Strong analytic skills, leadership skills, negotiation skills and knowledge of IT environments

  • Bachelor's degree in technology related area preferred
