Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner.

The Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) is responsible for supporting the global data, voice and retail bank branch networks, spanning 50 countries comprised of well over one million network ports, 85,000 network devices and 35,000 circuits.

This position is for a Site Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for the development and implementation of processes necessary to improve reliability along with operational support of the Global Network Infrastructure. As an SRE engineer, you will work with a team creating new automations, developing scripts and improving processes to eliminate toil, reduce MTTR and maximize operational efficiencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have programming backgrounds in Python/Ansible and a drive to improve production operations through automation. The workload for the position would be comprised of Infrastructure Operations and software development

  • Develop software to automate operational processes along with coding for the shared engineering backlog deliverables

  • Diagnosis and remediate issues and engage with stakeholders as required

  • Resolve day-to-day operational incidents. Including analyzing patterns of production incidents, develop permanent remediation plans, and implement automation to prevent future incidents from occurring through software development

  • Educate and mentor peers on software development methodologies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of infrastructure engineering with experience on Linux, x86 hardware, networking and storage technologies

  • Experience with automating tasks and writing tools in a scripting programming language such as Python, Ansible, Java, etc

  • Experience of incident resolution in an large scale operations environment

  • Experience working with a configuration management tool (i.e. Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack)

  • Experience working with a version control tool (i.e. Bitbucket, Github)

  • Experience working with an automation server (i.e. Jenkins)

  • Experience working with Framework Integration

  • Good organizational, management, written and verbal communication skills

  • The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science/Engineering, or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience or up to date certification in any of the following technology areas:

  • CCNA or CCNP

  • Cisco Nexus IP switching

  • Network Automations

  • SMARTS/EMC Monitoring

  • Netcool / Webtop Services

  • Firewalls / Proxies / Loadbalancers
