JPMorgan Chase Consumer & Community Banking Mortgage Banking Originations Compliance Associate in Jacksonville, Florida
The Originations Compliance Associate is responsible for conducting compliance related monitoring and ongoing analysis of the line of business’ compliance with mortgage originations and consumer protection based regulations for the Firm’s branch based, call center and on-line lending channels. The successful candidate will have a strong regulatory skillset and assist the business by advising on federal and state regulation implementation, participate in annual compliance risk assessments and participate in the evaluation of compliance impacted issues and action plans, new and enhanced mortgage products and business initiatives. A proactive approach to assessing and managing compliance risk is a key attribute required for this role.
Develop, execute and document monitoring of compliance with key federal and state regulations in accordance with the Firm’s Compliance Monitoring guidelines
Review new and changed regulations for applicability to specific processing areas within Mortgage
Assess the effectiveness of procedures created to comply with new and changed regulations
Assist in internal audit, Compliance testing and regulatory exam preparation
Maintain knowledge and understanding of new and updated federal and state laws and regulations
Assess compliance relevance of critical systems implementations and enhancements
Assess compliance relevance of new or enhanced products as they are reviewed through formal governance functions.
Build dynamic relationships with associated business partners, legal, control and risk functions.
Handle and manage a variety of ad-hoc requests to support the Home Lending Compliance Program Ability to work as a proven compliance professional with minimal supervisory guidance.
Oversee effective business issue resolution with regard to compliance impacted issues.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience -required
Mortgage Banking Originations and/or Regulatory Compliance experience (3 - 5 years)
Knowledge of federal laws and regulations governing the mortgage banking industry (including but not limited to HMDA, RESPA, TILA (TRID), FCRA, GLBA, SCRA, FDPA, HOPA, etc.)
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with shifting priorities
Strong research skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills, Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be a self-motivated and disciplined time manager
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and develop solutions to complex problems
Ability to coordinate complex and cross impacting processes
