Core Components and Architecture (CCA) group within the Technology division of J.P. Morgan Asset Wealth Management (AWM) serves all aspects of the business, providing best in class architecture solutions and services used as the foundation for technology development. CCA is focused on enabling innovation, rapid execution and enabling the product teams across AWM – leading the development and implementation of DevOps, Automation, and cloud solutions and technologies.

The group is currently seeking a senior program manager to oversee the running of the organization in addition to governance of the group’s portfolio of Technology and Organizational Change programs. In partnership with the senior Director, you will have overall responsibility for the operational and organizational management of the division.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the delivery of strategic technology programs, in addition to management of large scale process improvement or organizational change programs. With extensive experience of working at a senior management level, you will be able to demonstrate a record of strategic planning in a large and complex organization and helping to drive cultural change.

You must be able to make a significant and effective contribution to the development and implementation of strategy and policy and therefore must possess a detailed knowledge of technology architecture principles and software development practices and tools, including direct experience of working within an agile software engineering organization.

Role Expectations:

  • Development of the division’s strategic goals, execution plans and operating model

  • Ongoing governance of the portfolio of work and operation of the division to ensure a high performing organization.

  • Engagement with senior stakeholders across all technology lines of business within AWM, ensuring adherence to the division’s plans and expected outputs, whilst fostering an environment of collaboration and shared success.

  • Development and execution of the division’s communication strategy ensuring effective routes of communication are maintain at all levels of the organization, both inwards within the Asset Wealth Management organization and outwards to Chief Technology Office.

  • Ongoing transformation of the organization, examining processes and policies to identify opportunities to optimize and better align the division to deliver against its strategic goals.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise working in an Agile project environment and the ability to operate development and architecture discussion forums, through a deep understanding of current application development tools and techniques.

  • Experience running a portfolio of complex and inter-related technology projects at scale, acting as the central point of coordination on cross team deliveries, ensuring dependencies, risks and issues are identified and managed effectively.

  • Highly driven and results orientated: Drives results through people, communication, influence and interaction.

  • A fundamental desire and focus on minimizing overhead and complexity.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as are strong diplomatic skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups.

  • A keen ability to plan clearly and strategically in a complex environment and build effective organizational processes that support these plans. The ability to govern and instill discipline across organizations whilst building a positive culture and high performing work environment.

  • Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience, bringing strong intellectual capacity, excellent analytical skills and clear, consistent and ethical judgment.

  • 10+ years relevant experience, with at least 5 spent in an organizational leadership role acting in a senior Technology Program management capacity.

  • A proven ability to develop and implementation organization strategy. Partnering with senior executive leadership to develop effective business and financial plans.

  • A strong focus on project risk, with the ability to govern the project execution process ensuring compliance with all corporate, regulatory, IT risk and architecture policies.
