The CIB Learning & Development Team provides best-in-class training to support business priorities and to attract or retain top talent in the industry. Our global and regional training programs are distinguished by extensive business engagement with CIB professionals who are actively involved in training design, instruction or facilitation.
This New Jersey based Vice President, reporting to the Global Head of Banking Training, will be responsible for leading the design, development and execution of select Front Office CIB training initiatives, with special focus on the client and professional skills training needs of the North America Global Investment Banking (GIB ) Organization.
This VP will work closely with L&D colleagues globally to ensure that Training programs address the training needs of our NA GIB clients while providing globally consistent knowledge and skill building as appropriate for role and level .
As a leader of the function, this VP will develop strong relationships with HR Business Partners and Line of Business executives at all levels. They will serve as a training advisor and coach for the business by staying current on Training best practices, GIB and CIB business priorities and evolving client solutions.
Location Requirements : New Jersey based position with frequent meetings and/or training delivery in New York.
Relationship Management – establish strong relationships and ongoing dialogue with key GIB and CIB stakeholders in coordination with team and global L&D colleagues
Needs assessment – identification of training needs in partnership with the HR Business Partners, Development, Training colleagues and all key Business Stakeholders
Communication - keep Global Heads of Banking Learning & Development, and other HR stakeholders apprised of new initiatives.
Program design – partner with subject matter experts and/or vendors to design training solutions that may involve in person classroom, virtual or online delivery. Ensure course content meets evolving business strategies and priorities
Program facilitation and/or delivery – effectively facilitate programs for audiences ranging from Vice President through Managing Director.
Evaluate effectiveness of training delivered against program objectives
Vendor relationship management - liaise and partner with vendors delivering technical, product and professional training to ensure successful delivery for our clients
Oversee program budgets Other ad-hoc duties in support of Learning & Development activities
Skills & Other Requirements
Minimum 5 years training or relevant business experience
Understanding of investment banking VP + roles and competencies desirable
Experience with training needs assessment and training program design
Ability to interact and build strong relationships with senior GIB and HR executives
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with others in a matrix environment
Strong project management and organizational skills
Innovative, problem solving mind set
Excellent judgement and decision making skills
Proven experience with management of large scale, high visibility training or similar events
PC competence, especially MS applications(Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
