JPMorgan Chase Core Java Software Engineer - Front Office Equities Risk in Jersey City, New Jersey

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
Provide high quality technology solutions as part of a dynamic development team that works closely with Product Management and Front Office users
Demonstrate excellent understanding of Object Oriented and component based software development and experience using design patterns
Be strongly involved in analysis and design of components and services in Risk Management Technology and drive ideas on best practice software design principles like Agile development, TDD, continuous integration testing, etc.
Ensure technology solutions are implemented according to requirements, are robust, scalable and supportable
Define development plans and milestones and ensure on-time delivery in line with the defined plans
Work closely with the project managers, business analysts and the business, as well as with other technology teams to solve business problems and articulate and communicate new technology requirements ensuring understanding by all stakeholders
Adhere to standard release procedures, follow risk and controls recommendations
Should be able to work individually or as a part of the global team
Excellent communication and written skills are a must
5+ years of professional experience using Java 6 or higher (preferably experience with Java 8)
Experience in Java Performance Tuning and Memory Utilization
Experience in Java Concurrency and Collection frameworks
Experience in developing high-performance, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems
Working experience in frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, Ibatis, Maven, Jenkins
Working experience with real time messaging concepts and technologies: JMS, MQ, Chronicle Queuing
Working experience with Test Driven development practices: unit testing, mocking frameworks (EasyMock, Mockito, PowerMock)
Experience with Agile software development lifecycle and best practice like Scrum
Experience in Financial Industry, preferably Market Risk or other front office environment
Exposure to Pre/Post-trade processing
Knowledge of FIX is useful
XML is a plus
Flexible with morning shifts, as/when required
