In this role you will function as a Lead Design Authority for Asset Management Alternative Investments Technology.
Helping define and drive deliveries towards the strategic direction for the organization. Guiding and mentoring the development teams to grow their technical skills and promote consistency in the space.
Providing ongoing technical guidance and direction for the development teams. Assisting with Proof on Concepts, being a catalyst for the team to adopt new standards and practices, continuously looking at legacy platforms for modernization opportunities.
Active participation in an Agile development process, including working closely with the business/product owners.
Work closely with development teams to deliver on a cloud roadmap for internal and external facing applications by leveraging private and public cloud offerings.
Identifying and managing the non-functional requirements (NFR) for the organization including risk, cyber security, code complexity, & automated functional testing
Ensuring the architecture addresses each of the NFRs, as it evolves throughout the lifecycle of the project
Understanding and promoting the overall data model for the suite of applications in the area, and for interfacing areas
Aligning with the security standards and guidelines set by the firm to ensure systems are secure and protected against threats.
Managing risk for all technical decisions and any platform dependencies
Responsibility for project delivery by maintaining technical consistencies and meeting firmwide SDLC standards.
Continuous improvement of the team’s tooling and processes to enable us to deliver more value
Providing regular feedback to senior management and key stakeholders
Close engagement with architects and Lead Design Authorities across other areas of Asset & Wealth Management – collaborating to define consistent approaches and solutions
Bachelor's Degree with 10+ year’s experience in software development of complex enterprise applications.
Prior experience working at a large tier global financial institution.
Strong technical leadership experience working with global teams
Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues in an easy to understand manner
Creative problem solver and solution developer
Eager to learn, adopt and turn into strong value proposition
Extensive experience with
Java (Core & EE, Spring, JUnit)
Microsoft technologies (.NET, SSRS, SSIS, SharePoint)
Build tools (Maven, Ant, Jenkins)
SCM tools (GIT/BitBucket)
Scripting languages (Bash, Perl, PowerShell, etc.)
Testing tools (Cucumber, QTP, Selenium, Mockito, DbUnit)
Agile project management (JIRA)
SQL and RDBMS systems (MS SQL Server, Sybase & Oracle)
NOSQL and BigData (Cassandra, GreenPlum, Hadoop, Spark)
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture, integration patterns and messaging technologies (e.g. JMS, MQ Series, Mule)
Experience with caching solutions such as Gemfire and EHCache and other in-memory databases.
Experience with Cloud development & deployment using Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS.
Experience in designing and developing microserices based applications.
Exposure to Machine Learning and AI ecosystem including Python or other languages.
