This position leads an operations organization responsible for 24x7x365 management and support of JPMorgan Chase Linux Operating Systems. The candidate will be responsible for overall stability and health of the service along with driving our transformation to a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operating model.
The ideal candidate is an experienced and enthusiastic global leader, with a proven track record of leading development and production support teams as well as being a driver of operational and technology change. This individual has excellent technical, communication, teamwork and inter-personal skills.
Provide senior command and control leadership for production impacting incidents, available on a 24x7x365 basis in order to meet the needs of the business
Global staff management responsibilities for System Administrators based in North America, Buenos Aires, EMEA and APAC
Drive a strong risk and control culture across the organization
Provide thought leadership on innovation and software development best practices
Evangelize and drive our transformation to a DevOps/SRE organization
Actively assist with recruitment, development and mentorship of high impact talent
Proactively manage dependencies and remove barriers to operational excellence
Drive partnership with global functional leaders to achieve organizational success
Implement a culture of continuous improvement via Stability and High Availability resiliency assessments and execution
Foster a mindset of creativity and continuous improvement across the team, constantly raise the bar in how we deliver support for our clients
Be a change agent; constructively challenge team members to advance their technology skills
10+ years of experience in large-scale, dynamic, high-availability production environments
Strong understanding of Network and System Infrastructure Fundamentals
Expert understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and VMWare ESXi operating platforms
Experience with core infrastructure services; DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Active Directory
Experience working with Enterprise Configuration Management Solutions: Ansible, Puppet, CFEngine, SCCM
Development and Scripting experience: Python, Perl, Shell
Experience with Enterprise Monitoring and Analytics Solutions: Netcool, ITM, SCOM, DataDog, Splunk
Proven ability to navigate and lead the intersection of development and operations
Experience with Public Cloud Technologies and familiarity with industry landscape and trends
Proven ability to independently run a large scale program or portfolio of work
Outstanding communication skills; ability to articulate complex technical and non-technical discussion topics in both written and oral form to clients, peers and senior leadership
Experience managing and developing teams with global accountability and responsibility.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
