The Asset Management Solutions Group uses its capital markets, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and active risk budgeting capabilities to deliver custom, cross-asset class solutions to the investment management needs of individuals, pension plans, retirement plans, insurance plans, endowments, and foundations. The Middle Office Operations Group supports the Solutions Group, performing these primary functions: (a) ensures the accuracy of investment data used within the Front-Office suite of applications, (b) acts as a central point of contact for the Front Office for problem resolution, (c) oversees the broader Operations team in their support of Solutions’ portfolios, and (d) provides extended operational support for complex client relationships. While the Middle Office Operations Group resides within the Operations organization, it is tightly integrated with portfolio managers, portfolio implementation specialists, and technologists.

Role Outline

The incumbent is responsible for providing ongoing operational support to the Front Office by performing such tasks as:

  • Overseeing the data environment of Front Office systems

  • Ensuring data integrity of these systems by overseeing ongoing data validation tests performed by an offshore team

  • Partnering with the Front Office, Operations, and Technology teams to resolve issues

  • Partnering with Business Management and Business Specialists to improve processes and implement change

  • Build relationships with the Global Team and be responsible for sharing best practice where appropriate

The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting various process improvement and technology deployment projects for the Front, Middle, and Back Offices. The incumbent will work closely with the rest of the Middle Office Operations Group to:

  • Provide business requirements for system enhancements

  • Test functionality and validate data environment prior to technology deployments

  • Specifically with regard to Spectrum Portfolio Implementation and the deployment through our strategies

  • Account and Benchmark set-up, validation and flow management

  • Collect and analyze data, interpret results, and make recommendations

  • Define, document, and implement improvements to processes

  • Specifically with regard to Process Improvements in our Alternative and Derivative Business build out

  • Bachelor’s degree (or better) from an accredited, high-quality institution

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to manage concurrent assignments effectively and efficiently

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, time management, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills

  • Team player and adaptable to a changing environment

  • Experience overseeing or reviewing the work output of other teams

  • Ability to influence people, lead discussions, and troubleshoot issues

  • Proficiency with Microsoft products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
