The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

The North America Interest Rate External Reporting team within IB Finance and Business Management is a New York-based group that provides finance support to across desks in the Americas Fixed Income space. The desk's mandate is to offer solutions to its clients primarily through interest rate derivative products, including but not limited to interest rate swaps, options, swaptions and inflation-linked products along with structured note issuances and cash products. Through partnering with financial control, front office, business management, middle office, operations, and Firmwide Financial External reporting Control (FERC) the External reporting team is tasked providing accurate analysis and reporting for the Americas Rates in regards to all external regulatory disclosures and capital reporting.

The Product Control Associate's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Submit accurate and timely reporting disclosures for Americas Rates, including but not limited to Risk weighted Assets (RWA), Fair Value Measurement (FVM), Fair Value Option as well as additional Reg. Cap & External Reporting requirements.

  • Report and analyze monthly RWA impacts under Basel III standardized approach and Advanced.

  • Provide QoQ and YoY detailed risk based analysis and commentary across disclosures.

  • Work with financial control team to ensure the accurate general ledger for reporting.

  • Understand the legal, regulatory, compliance, credit, market risk management, tax and accounting issues as they relate to the product, booking and reporting.

  • Partner with external/internal audit to ensure closure of audit requests and reviews.

  • Drive process improvements and projects impacting current FVO, FVM and additional reporting functions.

  • SPV/SPE analysis and review of consolidation requirements.

  • Consolidation and reporting of Off-Market trade monitoring.

  • Reg W consolidation and reporting

The candidate must be highly-motivated and able to shift focus between tasks with relative ease. The individual should also be flexible enough to shift workload in accordance with changing priorities, and be comfortable dealing with a sometimes stressful and fast-paced trading and month end priority-driven environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics

  • Previous experience in a Product Control, Middle Office or similar P&L/Risk-focused role.

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Comfort liaising with senior team members

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment

  • Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills - preferably VBA

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Time management; organization and prioritization of tasks, setting own deadlines and working to defined targets
