JPMorgan Chase CIB Risk – Clearinghouse Risk & Strategy Team – Analyst/ Associate in New York, New York
The CIB’s Clearinghouse Risk & Strategy Team (CRT) is a global team within the independent risk management organization and liaises with internal and external constituents (JPM senior management, business partners, Central Counterparty (CCP) senior management, and regulators) to determine/ guide JPM’s thinking on CCP risk concerns and related regulatory matters. The team helps ensure consistent JPM communication on CCPs to regulators and clients globally and leads regulatory discussions with key int’l and domestic bodies.
As a result of the G20’s commitment to central clearing, CCPs are now one of the most systemically important of institutions and ensuring their safety is, thus, critical to regulators, market participants and CCPs themselves. In this context, the CRT partners closely with other major OTC derivative dealers and clearing members through trade associations/ industry consortiums to raise and seek to address systemic concerns regarding the adequacy and consistency of the level of risk management across the CCPs and to develop/ improve CCP structures and to strengthen existing/developing global CCP frameworks. The CRT is also a major participant in /contributor to ongoing external regulatory discussions with reference to CCP related rule making, related business impact, implementation timelines and JPM preparedness. The CRT is extensively relied upon firm-wide for its subject matter expertise, especially in light of the above.
