Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Compliance plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm’s compliance mission. The Compliance function ensures the development and maintenance of a strong compliance culture by working closely with the business, legal, risk, and audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters.

As an Independent Function (Compliance Second Line of Defense), the primary objective of Global Financial Crimes (“GFCC”) Compliance Practices is identifying, assessing, mitigating, controlling, measuring, monitoring and reporting Compliance-Relevant Risks through the execution of core compliance practice areas such as Monitoring and Testing, Issue Management, Policy and Procedure, Risk Assessment and Training.

The responsibilities for this individual (Associate) will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Support the GFCC Compliance Practices and Advisory teams through the development and execution of the CCB GFCC Compliance Monitoring and Testing plan.

  • Identify and develop new AML/KYC/OFAC monitoring and testing opportunities.

  • Perform compliance monitoring of certain AML/KYC/OFAC areas of focus.

  • Assess and provide compliance relevant observations on the effectiveness of line of business implementation and execution against relevant Global Policies, Standards and related Procedures or guidance.

  • Identify and escalate preliminary observations or issues to the CCB GFCC Compliance Practices and Advisory Leads.

  • Attend relevant Compliance meetings and provide regular updates on key issues and emerging risks.

  • Work with line of business, compliance and controls colleagues to define and open compliance identified issues.

  • Validate compliance identified issue remediation.

  • Partner with GFC Legal, Compliance, and other functional teams to verify applicability and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies or standards, when applicable.

  • Experience in the financial services industry, preferably within Retail Banking.

  • Experience in advisory and/or other AML/KYC Compliance activities strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of JPMC’s Global KYC Standards and Appendices strongly preferred.

  • Experience in Audit, Compliance Testing or Risk /Controls functions a plus.

  • Comfort working with data analytics partners to define and develop reporting requirements a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of AML/KYC legal and regulatory requirements and/or industry best practices a plus.

  • Ability to take initiative, direction and deliver against tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and planning skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions, multi-task and manage workload under compressed timelines.

  • Strong oral/presentation and written communications skills to efficiently and effectively articulate a Compliance opinion and/or requirement.
