JPMorgan Chase Corporate & Investment Bank - Business Control Manager - Vice President in New York, New York

The Business Control (BCO) Manager will interact with multiple lines of business and corporate functions and will need to be able to work effectively with senior executives of the firm. The BCO will need to establish very strong relationships within the Electronic Trading Businesses across Markets (i.e. business head, desk heads, sales personnel, business managers and keys business partners such as Product Control, Technology, Market Risk, Operations, Compliance etc.). The BCO will need to develop a deep understanding of the business, its control challenges, the architecture and products.

The Business Control Manager focus will be:

  • Trusted Front Office control advisors

  • Represent Front Office interests vis a vis control/regulatory initiatives

  • Execute and implement business controls priorities and strategy

  • Front office supervisory management and execution

  • Control and Risk governance implementation and reporting

The successful candidate will work in E-Trading Controls Program supporting the team’s objectives regarding strategy development and implementation for E-Trading Controls.

The candidate is expected to facilitate, develop, and enhance tools for mitigating and analysing risks arising from intraday market movements, change management, and E-Trading strategy performance. The candidate will become familiar with the tools used and developed by the group to achieve the objectives above.

Duties:

  • Support the E-Trading Controls Program from a Markets perspective (qualitatively) and from a metrics perspective (quantitatively)

  • Presenting information to diverse audiences of varied technological and experience inside and outside of the firm

  • Support the broader E-Trading Governance agenda through research, presentations, document assessments and reviews

  • Support the mitigation of catastrophic and lesser risks relating to E-Trading

  • Ad-hoc data analysis and report generation

Qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc level – in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar

  • Early career experience with risk management, quantitative finance, business management, controls management, or application developer with an emphasis on financial markets.

  • It is strongly desirable for a candidate to have direct experience in electronic trading operations, oversight, strategy development, or related

Essential skills:

  • Program management and/or Product ownership

  • Confluence or related tools

  • Agile or related processes

  • Strong controls focus and comfortable working with large amounts of data

  • Demonstrated ability to transform complex data into intuitive visualizations

Desirable skills:

  • Software development experience strongly desirable

  • Financial regulatory or compliance interaction strongly desirable

  • Experience using Functional Programming languages: R, MatLab, etc.
