The Strategic Investments team (part of Corporate Sector, Private Investments) partners with LOB (line of business) executives, other banks and market structure players to analyze and execute strategic market structure / FinTech principal investments and other strategic collaborations, including management of the Technology Vendor Equity Program (TVEP). These initiatives are linked to topics at the top of senior management agendas and are sourced from group’s external network and / or from LOB executives.
The TVEP focuses on identifying, prioritizing and engaging with innovative technology companies whose products or services may become strategic to JPMC and where JPMC support can provide significant value. An important outcome of this partnership is for the bank to obtain equity (in the form of warrants) in these technology vendors. The Program aligns efforts and contribution to value creation.
Responsibilities for this role will include supporting the TVEP and the broader Strategic Investments objectives and activities. This role involves substantial interaction with both internal and external senior executives.
Contributing to and coordinating transaction analysis and execution
Managing cross-functional work streams, engaging with groups across JPMC (LOBs, Sourcing, Global Technology Strategic Partnerships, Legal)
Tracking active projects and pipeline opportunities
Creating artifacts and documentation (including analyses and summary decks, process flows and documentation, status updates, trackers) to capture program and project recommendations, analyses and updates
Experience with corporate transactions
Financial modelling aptitude
Attention to detail and comfort with reviewing legal agreements a plus
Understanding of and experience with corporate finance and legal structures
Interest in and understanding of technology in the financial services industry
Ability to interact and communicate with senior leaders both internally and externally
Results-focused, highly-motivated, self-starter
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
