The Global Compliance Practices Governance team is accountable for supporting implementation of the firmwide risk and control framework across Global Compliance. The team coordinates senior management and Board-level presentations for the Global Chief Compliance Officer as well as various requests from regulators. The team is integrally involved in firmwide strategic initiatives including the Compliance innovation agenda and digital solutions to advance the firm’s compliance risk management capabilities. The Head of Compliance Practices Governance reports to the Chief Compliance Officer of Practices. Compliance Practices is the function within Global Compliance responsible for defining and overseeing the framework for compliance risk management across the firm; the framework includes seven core Practices which, together, comprise the discipline of compliance risk management at JPMorgan Chase.

Compliance Practices Governance is seeking a can-do Associate who is enthusiastic about joining a high profile team with significant and visible responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a strong writer who possesses experience with program management governance and support. The role requires some knowledge and/or understanding of risk and controls and frequent use of SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel. An understanding and/or background in providing input/business requirements for new technology tools is helpful, as the role supports strategic buildout of digital solutions to improve upon existing compliance management processes. The team interacts with very senior stakeholders, so skill and experience communicating with senior audiences is a plus. Strong written and verbal skills, as well as the ability to prepare concise PowerPoint presentations with impact, is required. The ability to apply critical thinking to drive the effective resolution of questions and issues is a core competency. A motivated self-starter looking to be challenged in a dynamic environment and execute on some of the firm’s most critical priorities will be a good fit for this role.

Responsibilities

· Coordinate various aspects of Compliance-wide initiatives and programs, including Compliance Horizontal Programs, regulator meetings and the Global Chief Compliance Officer’s (GCCO) executive and Board presentations

· Lead Compliance Practices SharePoint support, maintenance and buildout working closely with broader team and stakeholders

· Manage monthly scorecard reporting for the firm’s Board of Directors

· Support monthly tracking and reporting on Compliance priorities (i.e., the Compliance Book of Work)

· Help organize around and drive ad hoc requests from the GCCO and Head of Compliance Practices

· Represent the department on calls, meetings and projects, as appropriate

· Drive various projects and deliverables, as appropriate

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of three years working in financial services or related/applicable experience

  • Experience with government/regulatory, program management, technology implementations a plus

  • Critical thinking, strong independent work ethic

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to build rapport, garner respect and appropriately exercise authority in a collaborative cross-cultural environment

  • Understanding and demonstration of compliance standards and best practices; experience in governance and oversight roles

  • Track record of establishing and meeting short- and long-term objectives with interim measurable goals

  • Very strong in Microsoft Office products—particularly PowerPoint (executive presentations), Excel (macros, pivot tables) and SharePoint development and maintenance

  • Able to work individually and with team; with minimal supervision, and support colleagues

  • Solid organizational and time management skills

  • Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure and dynamic environment
