Risk Management , under the direction of the Firm’s CRO, provides a Firmwide independent function for the management of risk. This function provides oversight of the risks inherent in the Firm’s businesses. Each line of business is responsible for decisions relating to risk strategy, policy, measurement and control within its respective business.

The Model RiskGovernance and Review (MRGR) provides oversight of the firmwide Model Risk policy, guidance with respect to a model’s appropriate usage, and conducts independent reviews of models.

MRGR is composed of three distinct units: Model Review Group (MRG), Model Governance Group (MGG), and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) group.

  • Model Governance is responsible forday-to-day management of model risk, such as ensuring that models aregoverned by the appropriate policies and procedures, that they are subjectto performance review, and that their use includes appropriate operatingcontrols (e.g. access, change control).

  • Model Review Group (MRG) serves as anindependent model validation function that reviews and approves a widerange of models, including risk management, valuation, and certainregulatory capital models used by the firm.

  • The Chief Operating Officer office istasked with coordination, planning, and execution of regulatory, control,audit, and corporate risk initiatives and deliverables.

Position Overview :

This is a project / business management role within the COO team. We are looking to fill an experienced Junior Associate position who will be responsible for supporting the various projects and initiatives impacting Model Risk. Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis of large sets of model relatedmetrics data to highlight discrepancies with the model risk policy.

  • Support the governance framework arounduse of models that are exceptions per the policy.

  • Support regulatory exam requests and workwith teams across MRG, MGG and/or Quantitative Research to deliverrelevant model information.

  • Participate in the internal and externalaudit exams for the broader Model Risk group to coordinate and providedata to the auditors.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentationdecks for senior management, regulators and/or auditors.

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects thatinvolve data analysis per inputs from senior management.

  • Assist the broader COO team as needed,with time-sensitive projects or analysis

  • Bachelors degree infinance/mathematics/statistics/accounting

  • Strong analytical skills in interpreting results andcomfortable working with large volume of data

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and executetasks within deadlines

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (bothwritten and verbal communication) and liaise across groups and functions

  • Detail-oriented; Strong work ethics and an excellentteam player

  • Strong Technical skills in using Excel and Powerpoint.Basic programming experience is a plus
