JPMorgan Chase Vice President, Growth Strategy - Chase Consumer Banking and Wealth Management in New York, New York

Chase Consumer Banking & Wealth Management (CB/CWM) serves 25 million retail banking customers with $520+ billion deposits and $275+ billion investment assets in 5,000+ branches with 18,000 bankers and 3,000+ financial advisors. The CB/CWM leadership team is looking for a strategic, analytical and highly practical Vice President to join its Growth team. This newly formed team is responsible delivering CB/CWM’s top priority and one of the top goals for JPMorgan Chase overall: driving market share gains across our markets and providing strategic vision and innovation to build the next generation of our Consumer Banking business.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in combining strategic thinking and analytical problem solving with a passion for implementing recommendations and delivering results. This position reports directly to the Head of Growth for Consumer Banking and Wealth Management and will have broad exposure to CB/CWM, CCB and firmwide leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify and quantify key growth drivers, e.g., competitive landscape, branch footprint / format, salesforce effectiveness, marketing, digital, and “OneChase” opportunities

  • Define market-level growth objectives (3-5 years) and develop innovative performance management metrics and scorecards

  • Manage cross-functional ideation and experimentation process to identify the most effective and efficient ways to drive transformative growth; oversee pilots, develop business cases and KPIs / KLIs; track and evaluate results

  • Identify improvements across all aspects of the operating model, including organizational structure, process efficiencies and technology enhancements

  • Effectively cultivate relationships with and influence senior management and work with the senior leadership team to assess needs and develop solutions

  • Coordinate with functional partners and other CCB LOBs to leverage the power of OneChase and ensure strategic priorities are aligned and on target to meet goals

  • Partner with Field Management (Divisional Directors, Regional Directors and Market Directors) and Finance to ensure business plans are comprehensive and aligned with strategic objectives, while sharing best practices and lessons learned across markets

  • Provide program oversight and ensure transparency and collaboration across markets; establish program management discipline and performance tracking

  • Coordinate with Project Managers leading other key initiatives to identify synergies and potential conflicts in strategies (e.g., new market expansion, branch innovation, digital)

Collaborate with data analysis teams to determine and clearly communicate data needs and supervise analyses

Background:

  • BS/BA in an analytical field (e.g., business management, finance, economics, math). MBA highly preferred.

  • Financial services experience with experience in retail banking and/or wealth management preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in an analytical / strategic role – e.g., management consulting, strategy or finance

Skill set:

  • Ability to distill actionable insight from deep quantitative and qualitative analyses and synthesize into practical, implementable strategies and tactics

  • Exceptional communication skills, comfort presenting recommendations to senior management and capable of influencing multiple stakeholders

  • Proven project management experience working autonomously in a fast-paced environment leading multiple work streams end-to-end

  • Strong quantitative, critical thinking and analytic skills and capacity to quickly learn and develop new strategic frameworks

  • Excellent relationship management skills and ability to drive change across a large, complex organization

  • Experience anticipating and proactively addressing senior Management concerns, building consensus and enabling decision making

  • Intellectually curious, customer-obsessed, team-oriented, and high energy level with passion for driving quantifiable business results

  • Decisive in the face of ambiguity and able to operate in “Go Mode”

  • Willingness to travel and spend time “on the ground” to understand how conceptual strategy translates into realizable results

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
