JPMorgan Chase Technology Controls Senior Associate - eDiscovery in Newark, Delaware

Legal Technology (LT) is part of Corporate Technology’s Compliance & Legal Technology organization, which delivers technology solutions to support Legal as they advise the business on applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally, and assess and measure compliance and related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's compliance control environment. Legal Technology is the steward for the design, build and management for the firm’s Legal Technology portfolio across all Lines of Business and global regions. Legal Technology is responsible for partnering with our clients on evolving business capabilities, improving end user experience with our solutions and services, and ensuring that we continue to provide continuous improvement on the systems that are relied upon across the firm. Legal Technology supports legal functions covering Matter & Spend Management, eDiscovery Platform Services, Knowledge Management and Lifecycle Management.

This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems. Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis thereafter. The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively support incident handling, tracking, management, and drive resolution

  • Identify potential risks and works drives solutions

  • Drive and improve technology controls within the eDiscovery space

  • Executes control-gap remediation, oversees action plans and resolution of control issues/breaks

  • Conduct collection and preservation of non-standard data sources and systems

  • Act as Quality Control Coordinator across a vast array of electronically stored information data sources such as email, instant messages, etc.

  • Ability to implement Quality Control processes

  • Review existing process, identify gaps, remediate, and mitigate risk

  • Document new/revised processes, write procedures, communicate the information, and train team members

  • Follow up on research processes that were implemented historically to ensure procedures are being followed as prescribed and that they are operational as designed and intended

  • Memorialize research process improvement initiatives for future reference

  • Partner with technology to define requirements for automation

  • Acts as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems

  • Design and implement process documents and checklists; continually search for ways to improve existing processes

  • Drive improvements to processes through lessons learned

  • Define/drive project requirements and deliverables by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements

  • Evaluate/support Operations, Risk, Portfolio, and Information Management initiatives

  • Communicate projects in a way that stakeholders understand status, risks, and decision point

  • Experience with a risk and controls environment, identifying gaps, remediating, and mitigating risk

  • 3+ years of experience managing projects

  • Experience with understanding and documenting highly complex process for review with partners at varying levels

  • Works well under pressure and with urgency

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Legal, Project Management or IT degree preferred)

  • Very strong analytical, problem solving, and creative thinking skills

  • Strong technical skills preferred

  • Exposure to eDiscovery, Legal and regulatory requirements

  • Resilient interpersonal and cross-departmental partnering skills

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Deep knowledge of Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization

  • Experience in leading or coordinating activities across a diverse group of professionals with visibility to senior management
