JPMorgan Chase Director of Design/Executive Director - Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Digital Banking - Commercial Bank - Palo Alto, CA in Palo Alto, California

J.P. Morgan Chase is seeking talented design leaders for the position of Director of Design for our CRE Digital Banking unit. We are looking for a seasoned business executive to design the experience of CRE Digital Banking, and reporting to the Managing Director of Digital Banking.

The Director of Design for CRE Digital Banking will be responsible for all aspects of our design and user experience strategy, and execution. It is an executive leadership role responsible for online and offline experience of CRE Digital. They will research the current CRE customer experience to identify and recommend opportunities for innovation. They will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, to develop digital customer experience strategy, and design the new product and service experience. They will also collaborate across lines of business including engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of the experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In this role you will establish and ensure the successful execution of the design function within CRE Digital Banking.

  • You will deliver innovative and delightful product and service designs in line with the business goals of the CRE Digital Banking.

  • You will build, manage and mentor a small yet high performance team of internal designers and third party digital agencies to get the job done

  • You will establish a vision and see it through. You will utilize design thinking, user research and business strategy to identify unmet needs or untapped opportunities and convert them into strategic visions for clients and internal teams.

  • You will experiment with new interfaces, interactions and technologies to build effective design systems and leverage best practices to solve complex problems in the most elegant and effective way possible.

  • You will champion a culture of design-led innovation and customer centric mindset to ensure the success of CRE Digital banking.

  • You will stay up-to-date with trends in the Fintech industry to identify opportunities for game-changing innovations or strategic partnerships.

Professional Experience and Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated track record of success in leading large and complex, cross functional, business initiatives amidst ambiguity and change.

  • 15+ years of total professional industry experience including at least 10 years in design leadership, building, coaching and inspiring high-performance design teams.

  • Proven track record of delivering successful enterprise-grade products and services across a variety of domains, and experience in driving organizational transformation through design

  • Regarded as an industry thought-leader in design and innovation cultures.

  • Demonstrate excellence in:

  • Practicing and applying design thinking to transform customer experiences and organizations

  • Leading co-creation sessions with clients and internal teams

  • Deep understanding of modern user research strategies and techniques

  • Strong design strategy acumen and problem-solving ability amidst complex challenges

  • Successfully collaborating with client and internal distributed teams to ensure designs meet business and user needs and can be built and maintained

  • Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels, especially senior executives.

  • Experience in large software firms building products and leading cross functional launch initiatives.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the organization.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Design, Information Systems or related field

  • Degree in finance or business

  • Expert in design thinking and design-led innovation methodology
