JPMorgan Chase Director of Engineering/Executive Director - Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Digital Banking - Commercial Bank - Palo Alto, CA in Palo Alto, California

The Director of Engineering will lead the development and engineering efforts for the Digital Banking for CRE unit to support CRE business with a strong Digital foundation.

This executive will establish a culture of excellence and build a strong engineering discipline.. He/she will define challenging targets and milestones, focus the engineering teams, establish a high level of team participation and interaction, serve as an inspiring mentor and coach, ensure that quality is a high priority at every stage, and move products into production in the desired timeframes. He/she needs to be able to engage, influence and collaborate with development teams across JP Morgan in this very highly visible, impactful role.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Setup, lead, and drive engineering efforts in the growth and transformation of the Digital Banking for CRE business using technology and innovation to deliver exceptional services to JP Morgan clients.

  • Build, lead and inspire the technical team. Attract and retain top engineering talent to build a culture of fast paced innovation and passion for results.

  • Directly responsible for the performance of the JP Morgan commercial real estate core engineering team to ensure that the organization is meeting business growth and customer needs on time and on quality .

  • Ensure high quality and high customer satisfaction while maintaining a high pace of innovation.

  • Build a technology foundation and platform that fosters a thriving ecosystem of partners and opens opportunities for new business growth for Digital Banking.

  • Find ways to drive efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while balancing with the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the complexities and needs of running a large software development and software services organization, such as making technology and architectural trade-offs, feasibility analysis and life-cycle management, etc.

  • Work closely and engage with JPMorgan executives and direct reports to establish an environment that is motivating and entrepreneurial in nature. Work especially closely with the Product organization to obtain prompt resolution to key business issues likely to impact product release schedules, product requirements, product quality, and business operations.

  • Minimum of 15+ years engineering leadership experience with a strong track record of successful development and delivery of complex, enterprise class software that resulted in material market impact.

  • A highly driven leader that is known to deliver in high growth and highly dynamic environments.

  • Successful experience of setting the vision, building, leading and motivating global engineering teams at scale.

  • Demonstrated track record of implementing enhanced product development processes that shorten release cycles and improve “time to market” for new products.

  • Trained in software development, organization and leadership from a company well known and widely respected for world-class software development processes and practices.

  • A team player, who works effectively in a team-based organization, collaborates cross-functionally, and builds support and alignment around goals and objectives.

  • Track record of retaining, developing, motivating, and mentoring highly effective teams.

  • BS in Computer Science or related degree. Advanced degree strongly desired.
