Home Lending services 7 million mortgages with combined balances of $1 trillion, helping customers in our branches and virtually. The role of the HR Generalist is to help drive the HR strategy and provide generalist support across the Home Lending organization. The individual will partner with various areas of the organization to execute on a variety of HR activities including talent and performance management, compensation and promotions, recruiting learning and development, employee relations and diversity initiatives. The individual in this role will be a trusted advisor to various functions within Home Lending, through partnering with HR specialist functions to deliver the best solutions to our clients. In addition, to the advisor role, responsibilities will include managing and analyzing people related data as well as various HR projects to support the overall Home Lending function.
This role requires a strong focus on the firm’s culture and values, a risk and control mindset with the ability to apply sound and independent judgment to HR issues. In this role, you will
Partner closely with the HR community in recruiting, development, employee relations and compensation.
Drive the comprehensive talent agenda including succession planning, hi-potential and leadership development embedding diversity as a key priority.
Partner with business leaders to ensure the appropriate programs are in place to drive employee engagement.
Create & drive programs to support retention strategies, career development and mobility across the teams and across the firm.
Ensure employees and managers receive the appropriate counseling, guidance and support on employee relations issues.
Establish and measure key people metrics, aligned with business goals and work with business to drive progress.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required because this position routinely interacts with employees at all levels of Home Lending & Auto Finance, CCB and JPMC. Fast and reliable decision-making skills are critical in order to keep pace with the business and regulatory environments, and JPMC priorities. It is critical for you to understand when and how to escalate decisions or risks.
Other key requirements include: business acumen, understanding of how to work within structured decision-making constructs, ability to identify key stakeholders, assessing change management requirements and employee impact, and knowing when to challenge topics, issues and decisions.

Executive Level Presenting and Reporting
6+ years of working as an HRBP or other HR experience, preferably at a financial services firm
Excellent communication skills with a consultative approach in client facing situations
Strong analytical, quantitative and technical skills with a high proficiency in managing data and the ability to analyze/"tell the story"
Knowledge of human resources policies, processes, principles, concepts and methodology
A strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
The ability to build solid relationships and work well in a team environment
Proven track record in objectively coaching employees and management through complex, difficult issues and mitigating risks.
Exceptional judgment, demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and be creative in developing alternative solutions in a fast paced environment.
Good knowledge of the legal framework & practical application of employee relations concerns and mitigating risks
Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other HR systems
Bachelor’s Degree required
Human Resources and/or Financial Services experience preferred
Ability to travel occasionally for key business/leadership meetings
