J.P Morgan Merchant Services is the global payment processing business for JPMorgan Chase & Co. The Business Development Executive is an outside, business to business sales role. The primary responsibility is developing new business opportunities within the Commercial Bank, Middle Market sales channel, specifically aligned to the technology, life sciences, and emerging growth verticals. He/she will develop market strategies to drive payment processing revenue to J.P. Morgan Merchant Services and the Commercial Bank (MM). Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for end-to-end negotiation of new agreements with clients as well as coordinating the firm’s resources to bring those agreements to fruition. A strong history of building internal and external strategic selling networks will be vital to your success. You must be an expert at all aspects of direct selling including developing national / industry relationships within the marketplace and representing the JPMC brand globally.
Successful candidates understand technology and high growth digital commerce client needs. They have the experience and proven track record of creatively solving their business objectives by delivering the appropriate products and services. Finally, the candidate will liaise with internal partners (e.g. CB MM Banking, Treasury Services, Card Services, and WePay) and leverage an existing book of external influencers (Centers of Influences, Consultants, Venture Capital firms and VAR partners) to identify new client opportunities.

· Manage a specified sales territory, cultivate and manage pipeline opportunities.
Identifies and self-sources client opportunities.
Builds collaborative internal relationships to develop and foster partnerships. Actively participates in partners meetings and communicates messages timely and accurately.
Serves as payment expert, leveraging core knowledge, to recommend and promote banking and payment processing solutions to clients while working within the risks parameters that protect the firm.
Understands client's banking needs and presents product solutions offering to best accommodate the client.
Identifying complex business models and funds flows to architecture a solution that addresses compliance, boarding, and technology requirements.
Understanding the competitions' capabilities and gaps, and how to position JP Morgan Merchant Services
Liaison between Commercial Bank, Merchant Services, and WePay to drive referrals, partnership, and collaboration across the LOB’s.
Demonstrate exceptional leadership, follow-up and project management skills.
Lead/execute special projects and assignments as required.
Focus on exceeding profitability and aggressive sales objectives.
Represent the firm as a subject matter expert internally and externally.
Actively learning on payment industry trends, emerging technologies, and the global marketplace.
Aligns daily activities to accomplish strategic business objectives.
Protects the firm by applying sound risk management protocols; Is knowledgeable of compliance and risk issues to escalate to management as appropriate; will collaborate to determine solutions.
Understands the technology and high growth verticals and how to position the appropriate solutions.
Will execute sales strategy in alignment with corporate and LOB priorities.
Create a detail financial analysis and effectively deliver an in depth financial ROI to C-Level Executives.
Daily use of CRM, Salesforce to manage activity, pipeline, forecast, and execute against business initiatives.
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
College degree required.
Generally at least 5+ years of B2B (business tobusiness)sales experience with a proven track record of self-sourcing leads and network both internally and externally that results in meeting revenue goals in a solution selling environment.
Sense of urgency for goal achievement, strong commitment to driving sales results.
High sense of accountability and ownership.
Strong ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with multiple levels of the organization (internally and externally) - This includes senior-level presentation skills.
Exceptionally strong technical and financial acumen
Possess an understanding of Payments Infrastructure and connectivity methods including API’s and SDKs
Strong understanding of the unique requirements of companies within the Technology Vertical
Must possess strong executive presence.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills is required.
Demonstrated ability to build positive interpersonal, relationships with business owners and internal partners.
Possesses deep knowledge of company's products and value story to facilitate revenue growth.
Ability to sell in a consultative environment with heavy expertise on the payments continuum and technical integration with the payment process.
A strong understanding of emerging payment types, industry trends, and the international landscape.
Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
Strong negotiation, selling, influencing and presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of payment processing product(s) and relevant solution.
Salesforce experience preferred.
Financial or transaction processing experience preferred.
A high degree of self-motivation and drive.
Available to travel (up to 50%).
