JPMorgan Chase Software Engineer - Cloud in Seattle, Washington

Summary:

As a professional in our Cybersecurity organization, you’re equally committed to watching over our data, as well as creating innovative new software and tooling solutions. To do that, you’ll work with a highly motivated team laser-focused on analyzing, designing, developing and delivering solutions built to stop adversaries and strengthen our operations. Your engineering efforts will ensure stability, capacity and resiliency of our products and emerging industry trends. Working in tandem with your internal team, as well as technologists and innovators across our global network, your ability to create high quality, secure software will be invaluable to the continued success of the firm and the security of our customers’ data.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage and improve the whole lifecycle of services – from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement

  • Scale through automation and evolve systems by pushing change that improves reliability and velocity

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance software/tooling solutions

  • Design and implement automated deployment strategies that scale with the business

  • Research, design and apply advanced security techniques

  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

Requirements:

  • Experience in software engineering comprising of build release management, software configuration, design, development and implementation.

  • Highly skilled in application development, deployment, security and troubleshooting, particularly in a cloud environment.

  • Solid understanding of design patterns such as MVC, Singleton and Factory.

  • Knowledge in at least one public cloud service - Amazon Web Services (AWS), MS Azure, IBM, Google Cloud, Oracle, VMware…

  • Professional level experience programming/scripting in C/C++, Java, Javascript, Python, Bash, Shell and/or Ruby

  • Well versed in various operating systems like Linux, Windows, Mac and/or CentOS.

  • Experienced in version control and source code management tools like GIT, SVN, and TFS.

  • Knowledge in relational and NoSQL databases like MySQL, SQLServer, Oracle and/or MongoDB.

  • Involved in the functional usage and gained working knowledge of web servers like Tomcat, HTTP, JBOSS, IIS, Websphere, Weblogic, and Nginx

  • Familiar with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet and/or Chef

  • Experience using cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity organization practices, operations, risk management processes, principles, architectural requirements, engineering and threats and vulnerabilities, including incident response methodologies

  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

  • Experience with Agile and can work with at least one of the common frameworks is highly desired.

  • Ability to analyze vulnerabilities, threats, designs, procedures and architectural design, producing reports and sharing intelligence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

  • CI/CD experience utilizing tools such as Github, Terraform, Jenkins, etc.

  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, or Open Container Initiative (OCI)

  • Experience in application security, cryptography, network security or system security

  • Practical exposure with automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.

  • Practical exposure with cloud provisioning tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

  • Certifications:

  • CISSP, CISM, SANS-GIAC, CEH and/or Security+ AWS Certified Developer, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps or Security

  • Microsoft - Cloud Platform & Infrastructure: MTA, MCSA or MCSE
