CCB is advancing towards a transformation where high velocity software engineering of business capabilities is paramount. This strategy is being driven by the increasing use of digital platforms on the part of our customers as they bank with us and the evolution of financial products and services and their potential integration into digital banking ecosystems, including hybrid cloud. The growth of autonomous applications, APIs, distributed and private data, and events will require “reinvent” thinking as we maintain an evergreen portfolio while increasingly automating the maintenance and governance activities into the way we deliver software and infrastructure.

In this role, the Application Portfolio and Governance Lead will actively engage in portfolio analysis, ensuring clear understanding of applications and rationalization/hygiene opportunities as we prepare for the major hybrid cloud and data center initiatives. This individual will serve as a catalyst and thought leader to identify and drive increasing automation of portfolio and governance activities that are built into software delivery, DevOps, production operations and telemetry so there is an informed ecosystem with checks and balances that enable control and scale.

Position Summary:

  • Application Portfolio Analysis and Rationalization. Key areas include:

  • Perform prioritized analysis and profiling across the portfolio, ensuring applications are aligned to appropriate business capabilities and other taxonomies

  • Identify application rationalization and optimization opportunities, with a focus on business capabilities and data in support of the hybrid cloud strategy and data center migration programs to improve hygiene prior to the move

  • Modern Application Portfolio Management. Key areas include:

  • Engage and influence application software entities and attributes with Firm Technical Data Management that will be required to support legacy and a modern application portfolio including New Banking Architecture and Hybrid Cloud.

  • The structure should promote improved understanding of the assets and asset relationships (business and technical) and

  • Positions for automated maintenance of those assets in the System of Record (SEAL) as a part of the software delivery process, to both improve quality and remove manual application owner burden.

  • Influence Global Technology Infrastructure and Technology Data Management to accelerate discovery of assets that help drive a model of discover, infer and attest, to greatly simply Application Owner experience and confidence (run-time telemetry)

  • Detail how to measure portfolio maturity as we deliver the New Banking Architecture and Hybrid Cloud Strategies

  • Portfolio and Governance Automation Champion

  • Embrace and provide thought leadership to drive portfolio and governance automation activities that are built into software and infrastructure engineering (to code – annotations, self-describe) and are informed by telemetry.

  • Key assets in focus for the New Banking Architecture include governance to standards around domain-driven design, events, API, microservices, and data

  • Participate in setup, population, and use of new Portfolio Tooling

  • Willing to roll up sleeves and get into the details to collaborate, document, and drive continuous improvement in the portfolio and governance processes – with an eye on automation and modern software and infrastructure engineering concepts which are built-in, end to end

  • Collaborate across Engineering, Architecture, Cyber, and Infrastructure & Production Management

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in Information Technology with an understanding of applications and data

  • Experience with governance processes

  • Understanding of software delivery and code

  • Understanding of APIs, microservices and event driven architecture

  • Good verbal and presentation communication skills

  • Ability to facilitate meetings with business and technology

  • Experience with ArchiMate, BPMN, The Decision Model, or UML is considered a plus

  • Expert in Excel

  • Experience with Dashboards and Analytics

  • Strong drive to learn and continuously improve the portfolio transparency and quality through discovery and automation of the maintenance process. Be the change agent!
