Overview

The Planning and Analysis (P&A) associate is a member of the Card Services Finance Planning and Analysis team. The Card Finance P&A team serves as a strategic analytical resource to help senior executives understand, manage, forecast and plan the financial profitability of the business.

Position Description

The Card Finance P&A team produces business planning forecasts (Budget/Mid-Year Forecasts) and forecasts used for stress testing (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review - CCAR, Risk Appetite, ICAAP). CCAR is an annual exercise by the Federal Reserve to assess whether the largest bank holding companies operating in the United States have sufficient capital to continue operations throughout times of economic and financial stress.

Responsibilities

•Support Card Finance in executing both the annual/semi-annual business planning forecasts (Budget/MYF), annual/semi-annual stress forecast (CCAR/ICAAP) and the quarterly Risk Appetite stress forecasts

•Support Card Finance in all Stress forecasting processes including governance, line item mapping, documentation, Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA’s) and internal audits

•Analyze financial results, perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures

•Ensure all control procedures and governance/required documentation are updated and in compliance within the controls framework

•Support the preparation of internal and external forecast submissions to CCB P&A and the FRB

•Support the preparation of internal and external presentations and supporting materials for senior management and ultimately the Card Finance CEO

•Develop and enhance analytical tools to ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and forecasting

•Support the preparation of quarterly regulatory reports (FRY 14Q, Schedules G and M)

•Proactively analyze trends, research issues and respond to inquiries

•Work closely with other LOB P&A teams and the CCB P&A team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or other related majors

  • 3+ years in Finance/Accounting, management consulting or other financial/analytic roles

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint/PitchPro, Essbase, Tableau and SQL (preferred)

  • Strong quantitative, critical thinking and analytic skills excellent quantitative and analytical problem solving skills, confidence with finance and accounting concepts, has the ability to comprehend and clearly communicate complex concepts in a fast- paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented, fact based, has the courage to ask the tough questions and challenge the status quo and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
