Compliance plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm's mission. The Compliance function supports the development and maintenance of a strong regulatory compliance culture by working closely with the Business, Legal, Risk, Line of Business (LOB) Oversight & Control, and Audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters. The Compliance function develops and maintains practices to identify, measure, manage, and remediate regulatory related risks, monitors and tests the operating effectiveness of the Firm’s Compliance Core Practices.

Position Description / Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of an evolving and complex Compliance program to manage regulatory exposure in a dynamic area of the Firm.

  • Provide assistance in the oversight and credible challenges to the business for regulatory risk created by new and existing projects and through their strategic relationships with other businesses. For example, those within the FinTech and digital payments arena.

  • Staying abreast of the evolving regulatory landscape governing the digital payments industry to ensure that the businesses new and existing initiatives meet both the letter and spirit of the law.

  • The candidate may provide Compliance coverage for several areas, as well as serve as the team’s subject matter expert for specific regulations.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of dynamic monitoring activities for developing Digital initiatives.

  • Timely preparation and maintenance of compliance management cross-LOB regulatory reports, Compliance priorities, among other strategic activities.

  • Manage data issues throughout multiple sources by collaborating with functional leads for several lines of business, Technology, Operations, etc. to uncover patterns and trends in potential Compliance risks across multiple platforms/systems.

  • Challenge the status quo by providing critical and analytical thinking and strong decision making capabilities to identify problems, propose creative solutions and escalate as necessary.

  • Have the ability to work both independently and as a core team member.

This role supports the Digital Compliance team for the effective execution of the firm-wide Compliance Program, focused on the following Core Practices: Governance and Oversight, Regulatory Management, Policies and Procedures, Training and Awareness, Monitoring and Testing (inclusive of metrics), Issue Management, Risk Assessment and Reporting, Risk Control Self-Assessment.

Desired Background and/or Training:

Bachelor’s degree, Legal and/or data management degree, or comparable work experience required. The candidate must: (i) demonstrate the ability to identify key issues, and obtain appropriate information for further analysis, (ii) be highly analytical with experience in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing information on various subjects, (iii) demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and simultaneously explore innovative ways to review and analyze data to present useful information (iv) demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written and attention to detail.
